I was under the impression the DUI and car accident rates went up. :dunno
 
Logically speaking, it makes perfect sense to see some sort of increase in many of the common substance abuse problem areas.
 
I started with a 400 watt setup which is 57 watts per square foot of space,which worked fine for the vegetation stage, but I decided that for the extra money I could get a 600 watt ballast and a couple of new bulbs...(Had a $100 amazon credit)...so now I'm rocking 600 watts for the flower stage (and future vegetative stages)...it's now a healthy 85 watts per square foot which might be slightly too much but I'll keep the distance plus I use air cooling for the light tube.

Was nice to realize all I needed was a bulb and ballast upgrade...guess the only downside is 50% more electricity use.

Pretty excited for the first harvest.

I also installed a massive carbon filter which totally negates the smell so I let the air run outside the garage with no neigbhor the wiser.

I've been in flowering just over a week. Used some mild super-cropping after this shot to expose more plant.

Not showing any buds yet

I got a light perfect for starts and cloning that I've used in the grab bag section. Makes for easy cloning and planting.

I wound up further stripping down the plant in previous pics and cloning further. Gave away all but these two.

Both started as nearly identical size clones. Same nutrients, etc. The only difference is the lighting. The one on the left is LED and the one on the right an older CFL unit.

The one on the right is pretty spindly and I'll likely just use it to generate more clones rather than taking to bloom. The other looks pretty promising and I'm betting it will yield a few nice buds.

Actually the opposite. In the stratosphere (high altitude) ozone is beneficial because it absorbs UV radiation.

In the troposphere, ozone is problematic. It is a strong oxidizer, and it is linked to a variety of respiratory diseases and can promote cancer. It also contributes to smog by reacting with gaseous organic compounds and nitrogen oxides.

People buy ozonators to reduce odors. Odor compounds typically contain carbon-carbon double bonds, which are readily broken by ozone. At the site of breakage, ther is an incorporation of oxygen, whose polarity and weight often cause the reaction products to fall out of the gas phase, so they don't smell. This does reduce odors, but it does this by chemical reaction, the same reaction that will kill cannabinoids at the surface of the plant. The gaseous reaction products from the odor end up in your carpet. Ozone does have some industrial applications, but people using it in the home or for pot growing are doing it wrong IMO.
 
I wonder if Fabreeze has something like ozone in it? I always have a sneezing fit when I'm exposed to it. Even to the any fabrics where it settles.

Ozone is not stable in solution. It forms superoxide anions which would react with the other ingredients in the Febreeze.

Febreeze contains cyclodextrins, which are also used as pharmaceutical excipients. Cyclodextrins can form complexes with organic compounds, and at the same time stay dissolved in water. This effect makes the organic compounds also dissolve (kind of). Cyclodextrins allow the Febreeze aerosol to absorb organic odor compounds at the surface of particles. Eventually the particles settle on the ground, along with the odor compounds.
 
Ozone tubes on the ventilation outlet work well.

Everyone should keep in mind modern hybrid strains often grow 40-60% taller during flowering. And generally you never want to thin leaves. Thin stems and makes clones. Removing leaves during flowering lowers yields, a lot.

The grow tech now available especially LED is so cool. I get my veggie supplies from a grow shop: foxfarm, mycorrhizae, foilar sprays. It's amazing how many people are in there every time. In the late 80s we used to borrow random cars and wear disguises to pick up light and hydro supplies from Diamond Lights in San Rafael after our friends were followed home and charged with felonies for 150 seedlings. How times have changed.

Very. Though I don't think the pictures above capture it very well, the plant above that is under LED is so much more substantial.

I'll have to see how it plays out through flowering, but I'm betting on some decent yields. Nothing comparable to a tent, but plenty for my needs.
 
I'm having trouble with LEDs because the prices for similar sized/claimed powers run from $100-$700...is the $100 one crap? Is the $700 one over-priced

I've read up on them a bit and if I should move to a tent setup after this experiment, I'll likely use this one, or its big brother.

Good external reviews, and looks solidly built.
