The Home Grower's Thread

Is what you gave me an Indica?

I think some of it is I had white powdery mildew at some point (which I took care of with some nice smelling innoculent spray) but the flowers are fine...still yours looks so much better than mine despite the age difference.

The damn exhaust hose came off AGAIN but I got a u bend join and some new venting and will get it 100% Temps are under 80F so I'm pretty happy.

Jordan, a lot of that could be due to the genetics. Those things grow tall and lanky and have pretty small buds. I'm not saying yours look great, but I recognize a lot of similarities to mine (granted remember the stress mine went through).

By the way, if you guys still want to do the 29th, lemme know.

I'm still in

I'm not super worried but it's crazy how every grow I learn something and slightly improve. I keep saying "I'll get it right next time!"

You guys ever make hash, bubble or otherwise?

I used to make bubble hash with the bags (I should borrow my friends bags again), then press it into wafers.

I also made some butane extract way back when. Now I have a gas stove, and wouldn't dream of it.

Ducting stuff sucks, I tightened the duct clamps as tight as it would go and without tape the U joint would certainly fall off.

Any downside keeping the fan on the floor as long as the filter is above the plants?

Buying a Bluetooth temp and humidity monitor is cheap, like $50...but then another $100 if you want a box to connect it to the internet instead of just wifi.

I once had a strain called Grapefruit that smelled exactly like Grapefruit.

I've already purchased a bunch of seeds should keep me going a way, I only didn't use them yet because I got free clones.

I feel like mikev tried it and posted something positive about it in the hore thread..

I put the duct clamp OVER the duct tape and tightened. If it falls I am burning the building down.

Are you usng the silver snerggely hose stuff with the wire embeded into it? Slide that over your elbow and hose clamp it down snug. Never had a problem with it. I have used some big zip ties too but they kinda suck if you have to disassemble.

I grew a bunch of weed in college. I went to Amsterdam and bought seeds from the winner of the cannabis cup (Northern Lights #5 X Haze). That shit was epic.

Since we were in college studying biology, my friend and I decided to get into breeding. We got this one plant that put out these perfect little buds about the size of a big hop (except the cola). They looked and smelled like miniature pineapples. That was the happiest weed I've ever smoked. I had friends drive for miles to get some of that shit.

For the life of me I could not get it over the elbow. This is the old 6" ducting, I bought fresh 25' roll I'm going to install properly this weekend and try what you say.

Temps seem really good under 80 F with low humidity

I regret not trying this like 15 years ago.

Variations in flavor and scent is what hooked me on growing. The plant seems capable of endless varieties and forms and every grow is like an adventure with how the finished product will be. When Im less busy with life and parenting I would love to try breeding as a hobby.

Edit: Jordan I do remeber it being a bit of work to get the silver hose over the metal duct pieces sometimes. Measure your elbows and see how close they are to nominal. You may have just got some crappy elbows.

Growing is a great hobby and works well for people like me who love cooking; I love to follow instructions, measuring things, estimating thing, working with my hands and wires etc. I'm not especially handy and this makes me feel like I know "how to do something".

I'm going to give my grow buckets to a friend since I don't need them anymore and hopefully impart some knowledge.

So I always take all the plants out to water them because there doesn't seem to be a tray commonly available tray large enough for my 5 gallon pots...ideally I'd like to try a SCROG setup which would require them to be watered in the tent. I have a water vaccuum but the only base is the tent skirt. ANy suggestions?
