The left lane

Would that be enforced motorcycles too? Very few riders stay to the right.

I just feel safer in the left lane because traffic can only come at me from the right. That said, I always yield to faster car traffic....I won't ride much faster than 80 typically and if a car wants to go 85/90+ I don't mind moving over.

I feel 100% safe in the sofa, with a soda and the remote. Yet I ride. Go figure.

The rule should be stay to the most right lane unless overtaking. I see a lot of drivers hogging the #2 lane. That too causes congestion.

Once I got a warning near Lausanne for taking too long to overtake. Traffic flows very well there.

I've noted I do yield.

The signs say "Slower traffic, keep right", but I am now "slower traffic". I do notice it's a lot less mentally stressful in the next - to - left lane because if people want to pass you, they can...on the left. If they're tailgating you, it's them being an asshole instead of me, etc.

I feel the least stressed all the way on the right, just below the go-with-the-flow speed. One, it's the least used lane. Two, cops are looking for the guy being overtaken. Three, I get to smell the roses, and that's why I :ride. YMMV.

I've tried riding over to the right, but then I notice I'm driving behind someone doing 60, so I move left to pass them, then notice I'm driving behind someone doing 65, so I move left to pass them...and suddenly I'm back over to the left again :laughing

The proper way to do this is: stay to the right, overtake the vehicle in front using the left lane, return to the right. Repeat. A no-brainer.

sorry, but if you're asleep in lane 2, you're also an asshole. by pushing people into the single left lane you are part of the problem.

xenophobic, bigot and racist
Do you have a key that automatically types this collection of words? I do not think it means what you think it means.

If laziness or incompetence can explain a given behavior, you don't need to look for anything more complex.
This is genius, on the level of Socrates, Confucius, and Ghandi. It applies to everything. It is my new filter for life.

People are zombies on the road. Probably everywhere else, too, but the road is where I have to deal with them, where they feel a certain level of anonymity that permits the free exercise of their zombie behavior. There is no level of "education" or "training" that can change it.

What? How am I supposed to text and eat my Dorito-shell tacos if I have to pay attention to traffic like that?

Auto cruiser, hold the wheel with the knees, text with one hand and eat with the other. I've seen my ex doing that a hundred times.

i 100% agree, but my main pet peeve are people that wait until they are on the freeway to get up to freeway speed. that is what the onramp is for! it really is the most dangerous part of my commute if i am getting on the freeway behind someone that enters at 40mph.

i haven't rad the thread yet but...

i have started to forgive people for this. i have come across way to many short merges after a turn with shitty road. the gun range i go to is a very sharp hairpin turn with gravel and grooves big enough for my front tire to get in, and it is all 3, the main one and the 2 on either side of it.

and then also just the plain old extremely short merges where the only way to sniff 60 in a car is redlining through 3 gears.
