The Official 2012 NFL Thread

Don't you just cringe when one of your best players (if not the best) goes down with a knee injury in practice? Looks like Fins' LT Jake Long is gonna be out for awhile. :cry

Just what a rook QB like Tannehill needs for a trial by fire: receivers that drop 8 passes per game, and a replacement left tackle (also a rookie) protecting a right-handed QB's blind side. Welcome to a world of hurt....

regarding the TEN v NE prediction - maybe. i think NE might be planning one of their "Fuck the World" campaigns where they try to throw for 5-10 TD's a game. :party

Interesting turn of events, yet another team starting a rookie QB. Guess that guy Flynn wasn't worth all those millions after all? And to think a bunch of Miami fans wanted the GM's head because Flynn chose the Seahawks over the Dolphins....and then the guy can't even win the starting job vs a rookie!

i seem to remember some people in this thread giving me shit for having the opinion that Wilson was the third best QB in this draft.

i'd say the jury is still out, but my case is looking pretty good. :cool

on the other hand.... now SEA has a real shot at wining the division. especially if their defense picks up where it left off last year. :thumbdown

What do you raider fans think of Terrell Pryor? Can we use him like the faster Tebow that he is? Throw in a few wildcat formations?

:rofl

I think the Cowboys have a good chance at shocking the Giants tomorrow. 34-14 Dallas.

It's entirely possible if we're playing in New York. We have yet to lose in the Cowgirls new Stadium though, so if the game is in Dallas, I can't see us losing on opening day with that record on the line. If it's, "just another Division game," than my guys may have a motivation problem. The motto I've decided for this 2 Superbowl (So Far) era of the Coughlin/Manning Giants is, "None more clutch." This is not a GREAT regular season team, particularly in the early part of the season. We are the guys that drive hard when it really counts but tend to coast a bit when maybe we can let it slide. We're sort of the opposite of the, "Can't win after November," Cowgirls who seem to come out really hard and fast, but limp to a raggedy finish at the end of the season.

We lost some key personnel in the off-season and haven't shown AMAZING replacements since, while the Cowgirls are looking pretty good and seem determined to make a statement. It easily could go either way on opening day, but I just checked the game and it's in Jersey, so I give the Cowgirls a shot. Then again, I'm also reading a LOT of shit about, "Giants Overrated," and, "Dallas Redemption," which is just how we like it.

On behalf of the New York Football Giants, we welcome you to the historic Meadowlands to return for 2012 to another season of America's greatest sport. Ain't it grand?

Fuck, am I stoked that the regular season is here.

Good luck to all of you in this thread and your team of choice this season!! Except you 9ers pussies. Fuck that team!!!

GO BENGALS!!!!!!!

Fucking seriously, we have to get the "#1 team" of Buck and Aikman for the Niner/Packer game?

sigh

I don't think so!!!!
I do expect SEA to do better this year than they did last but.....
I have the same opinion about SF.

DM

i'm betting on SF to win, too. and i want them to!

but don't sleep on SEA. they should be good for at least 9-7 this year. that's close enough to the 10-6 the Niners will likely end up with to make me nervous we might not get the DIV.

I always get week 1 anxiety.

I cannot wait for FOOTBALL!!

Whatever, dude, your team has 6 NFL Championships under their belt including one just 4 years ago. You need to big picture it. Even if they suck this year, they've proven enough to never be tagged, "Losers," and you just say, "shit, we'll get them next year."

Now for the Vikings, Bills, Bengals, Eagles, Chargers, Falcons, Titans, Panthers, Seahawks, Cardinals, Jaguars, Texans, Lions and Browns fans, I can see the anxiety as they have never won the Superbowl and even storied franchises like the Cardinals, Eagles and Lions can be labeled losers if they leave past victories too far in the past.

Some teams, like The Giants, the Steelers, The Pack, they don't have to really sweat a bad season here and there, you know?
