Where do the Niners draft help? Build the O-Line? Maybe get help at WR? Defense seems solid.

receivers, another db, another olb, a guard, maybe a rb.

receiver is obvious. they need 2: maybe one FA one draftee.

DB: they are going to let reggie smith and shawnte spencer walk, goldson might get franchised, so that leaves rogers. even with rogers and goldson coming back they'll need to replace 2 guys. again, maybe a FA and a draftee.

OLB they only had 3 this season and ahmad brooks is a free agent. even if they resign brooks, they need depth.

the o-linemen are mostly okay, but they need more time, a full off-season together. they started off badly and started to come together late in the season. but right guard, adam snyder is sort of a stop-gap-- the "gap" being chilo rachal-- snyder should be an excellent, versatile back-up, not a starter. heard that the coaches are happy with the 5th rder from last year (kilgore) as a possible RG for next year.

i've heard some talk about fleener, the TE from stanford. harbaugh liked using 3 TE sets at stanford. fleener, davis and walker would be a pretty potent trio of TEs.

could use a short yardage back, someone on ninernation suggested hillis or tolbert. anthny dixon is not the answer. i wouldn't mind seeing another every down type of guy, gore isn't going to last forever, don't think kendall hunter is going to be an every down guy. the guy at washington would be good (can't remember his name) if they could get him in the second or third rd. seems to be a complete back.

no matter what, it should be best player available. continue to build build depth.

The "vogue" pick is Ashton Jeffries(sp?) or Mohammed Sanu. Both are WRs. So far Trent Baalke has shown that he doesn't follow "conventional" wisdom, and he does a damn good job drafting.

Biggest problem with the WR picked in the first round: the ones not named Calvin Johnson don't come into the league and dominate in their rookie year.

If I had to guess wildly, I'd say that they either go for Fleener from Stanford or a guy like Wisconsin C Peter Konz, who would play guard for a year or two until Goodwin's contract is up and he takes over. That would probably require moving up from 30, though.

I'll be content to just sit back and watch while the Giants take the best Defensive Player available AGAIN while somehow continuing to not address our needs at linebacker for ANOTHER year so we can keep running weird 3 Safety sets.

What about the Raiders? Need help at CB?

.

Bullshit. AJ Green was as good as any wide receiver in 2011, his rookie season.

CB and LB. Obviously without draft picks, the Raiders would have to build through free agency this year. cortland finnigan's name has surfaced a few times. Anthony Spencer, LB from Dallas has also been mentioned.

But honestly, it's a real mystery as to what Reggie McKenzie's plans to improve the roster are at this point, if anything. They may very well just clean house, look to trade some players for draft picks and count this as a rebuilding year. Get some fresh faces in that are the coaches 'guys'. really, I'm not sure anyone has any idea at this point.

I think the first thing they'll do is try to restore some order and discipline to the locker room and the team... seriously, they gave at least 3 games worth away in penalty yardage.

They'll probably do the old prison yard thing, walk up to the biggest, meanest guy in the yard and start a fight, ya know, just to keep from being made into someone's bitch. :laughing

But yes, CB's are a pressing matter. Talent wise, not too far off, but a little "motivation" would certainly help.

sha, Iron Coughlin's cheeks would have popped off his mole-faced head in frustration before that would happen.

yeah he had a great season, but his point that most 1rd wrs are either busts or don't contribute right away is valid.

of course, now that matt millen isn't a gm the percentage of 1st rd wr busts has declined...

Iron Coughlin would have had McClain performing at top levels and going to church the other 6 days of the week!
yeah like he got plaxico in line. all the raiders did was save nyc from another series of night club shootings.
