The Official 2012 NFL Thread

Yawn. Seriously, I was at the game in jersey and everything. Lame attempts at shit talking in this thread won't ever touch what i had to listen to in the stadium, walking the halls, and trying to get through the parking lot of that shithole coliseum.

But, yeah, we lost. Pretty sure we have the same record as 2/3 of the AFC.

that hardly discourages me :teeth

I'll still take the Oakland Coliseum over the games I went to at the LA Coliseum, especially in the mid-80's when it was still in the Olympic setup.

:teeth

Is anyone else amused that in Week 7 the AFC currently only has 2 winning teams?

and the Ravens are going to be hurting, what with all the defensive injuries and such. Also, Houston lost their standout d-player the week before...the AFC is really up for grabs.

I would be sickened, but not surprised, if Denver makes some hay in the postseason.

Ugh... seeing Elway's toothy horse-like smile at the end of the game (and that must've been his kid next to Davis, he had the same teeth) when I turned the channel sickened me, but in a Chargers/Bronco's game I can really only hope for carnage on both sides.

The big question is, how can the Chargers justify keeping Norv Turner?

Yeah. I hate Elway, too. I think it's genetic. Also, ever since "The Play" when he whined that it "ruined his whole career." Ooogie-boogie-boo-hoo.....

I always root for Norv, tho, because I went to high school with him and his brother Ron. They were BMOCs because of sports. FWIW, he was always called Norval, not Norv. Because of other friends from Alhambra, he keeps popping up on my suggested Friends list on Facebook. But I was an underclassman, and he probably only remembers my brother so I don't bother.

I can never tell what's up when a team isn't working. How much can you blame on the coach, GM, on and on??? Being from the Bay Area, we had one of the worst and seldom successful meddler/owners and one of the most beloved ....

It seems like firing the head coach is often a practice in denial. But its "doing something."

they have one of the most inept and self-destructive GMs in the game?

because they want to underperform?

who knows...but I haven't minded ever since the day they let Marty Schottenheimer go. That guy was a first-class Raider killer. Fucker always said "just play smart, conservative ball and let the Raiders beat themselves." and Fuck me did the Raiders oblige him time and time again.

I thought that was why the Raiders kept him as long as they did?

:laughing Yeah, no argument there....

I'm just gonna drop this here:

It wasn’t all great for the the New York Giants over the weekend. While the team was preparing for their best game away in San Francisco, thieves broke into several players cars, stole items from them, and even made off with some of vehicles themselves.

According to a report, the burglaries took place sometime early Sunday morning, around 4am. The players cars were in what was supposed to be a protected lot, guarded by a contracted security detail.

One player, offensive tackle James Brewer, tweeted Sunday night, “Only in Jersey can someone be heartless enough to break into my car while we are in Cali making fans proud.”

I blame Philly. If any of the cars were sexually assaulted, this would be them for sure. :|
