The Official 2015/2016 NFL Thread

I think Kelly is a good coach. His tenure in Philly didn't fail because he's a bad coach. It failed because he's not ready to be an NFL GM.

He didn't fail in Philly, two winning seasons out of three is not failure.

Remember the Eagles SUCKED before he arrived, they were 4-12. Then Kelly shows up, turns it all around with that fast-paced offense of his, they instantly win the NFC East.

Kelly's only real critic was DeSean Jackson, who has the IQ of a fence post. :laughing

Hilarious. Porter was standing there talking when the Bengals player walked up and rammed into Porter from behind. That's like, incredibly stupid. Total loss of composure by the Bengals.

Which is a shame, even with a backup QB they played well enough to win a playoff game.

Its hilarious that you think porter was "standing there talking".

There's no doubt that Adam Jones lost his composure. There is no doubt that Joey Porter should have been flagged. The Steelers coaching staff was equal to the task of being undisciplined in that game. You should be happy that the Bengals coaching staff is nothing like the Steelers staff. The Bengals former defensive back coach is now the Miami defensive coordinator, along with the former Bengals linebacker coach. Maybe they can help turn that shitpile in miami into a winning football team. :twofinger

Is this gif misleading? because it certainly looks like porter blasted into a circle of bengals, plus a ref. agree with elbaclavabro here. bengals did their part to lose, but this wasn't part of that.

Thanks again for the added read. I have to disagree with nearly half of what was written tho.
I don't know enough to agree or disagree emphatically.

I think the part about Kelly's attitude and personnel work are probably close to on point. I may be wrong.

I don't think Kap is salvageable. I may be wrong.

I think most people have severe cases of confirmation bias re: Baalke - they point to only the data which backs up their opinion. the truth is probably closer to the mean, which is to say he's had a couple good years and a couple bad years. if you give credit to McCloughan for 2011 then arguably 2015 was not Baalke's fault at all due to surprising retirements of core players, with the draft value yet to be determined.

as above, I may be wrong. time will tell!

That is exactly what he did. And its a penalty. Or so it should have been. I still think the game was lost on the fumble, but the shit show that followed was as much the Steelers, Bengals AND the refs fault. The only solace I get from that loss is to know that the Bengals beat the shit out of the steelers in that game and that they are hurt beyond repair for this weekends game.

The much maligned Burfict is an amazing linebacker. No doubt he's shady, but he plays for the Bengals, so I dont give a fuck. He plays the game the way a linebacker in the 70's - 80's played the game. He gives no fucks on the field. IF it wasnt for the Hill's fumble, the talking heads would be singing Burfict's praises in that game where he sacked Big Ben in a critical situation, and then made the "game winning" interception a drive later. Fucking Hill blew up that storyline a play later.

I can vouch. Adam Jones is legitimately nuts. Like dude is unhinged. EVERY TIME he comes off the field onto the sidelines it's like he's going to fucking stab someone or otherwise do something insane.

It doesn't take much AT ALL to provoke that guy.

Incorrect, watch this vid, start at 10:00 (you'll have to watch on youtube as it's blocked as imbedded). As the Steelers are getting Brown up so he can stagger off the field following the suspension-earning illegal hit to the head by Burfict, former Steelers player and current Steelers assistant coach Joey Porter is calmly standing there talking shit to Burfict when Bengals player #95 Wilberry walks up and SLAMS into Porter from behind (Wilberry got fined for that stupidity too). The fracas gets going after that which is where PacMan pushed the official to earn the second 15-yard flag which means that one play cost the Bengals 30 yards, a $28,940 fine, and all the blame for gift-wrapping the game for the Steelers. :p

You seem to be missing the point that Porter committed a penalty as soon as he walked up to the bengals huddle.

Tough to watch Brown get his clock cleaned like that. Surprised there's no vertebrae damage. Unnecessary hit. Ugly hit. Ugly sportsmanship. 3 games doesn't look like enough of a suspension for Burfict and the Bengals would have deservedly lot after that by itself

Why was a Steelers coach on the field with the opposing players? The only other Steelers in the area had left with Brown as he limped off. Looks like Porter got away with one there.

Amari Cooper agrees with this post... :laughing

True. Balked isn't completely responsible for 2015. His performance has been middle of the road and not worth the loss of Harbs though. And the firing of Harbs (or taking the wrong side in the situation) rests squarely with Jeddy-bear.

What the hell are you talking about? He wasn't in anyone's huddle he was in the Steelers group that came out for brown. And then he got mugged from behind. Maybe watch the video before hoisting the nutz of your boys next time. The Bangles acted like a pack of classes asswipes in that entire exchange. They earned both of the penalties and lost the game over it. Fucking classless shitheals.

You do pick some of the dumbest arguments to lose... :laughing

but then he didn't leave with them. I genuinely agree w you regarding everything else about the bengals and the game. but porter done fucked up when he didn't leave the field, specifically a circle of bengals players, with his only reason to be there.

I disagree re Harbaugh. I think it was time for him to go. it may have been time for Baalke to go, too, but that didn't happen due to ownership failures.

we can safely say that the FA class of 2015 has been an overall negative, with some marginal potential left from T.Smith. that said, Baalke's draft looks pretty decent. Armistead acquitted himself well in limited time and, as long as he develops at a consistent rate should be a legit first round pick. Tartt too. starting safeties are hard enough to find anywhere in the draft - they're really hit or miss - and it looks like he got one in the second round.

*edit - and let's not forget Jarred Hayne!!*

and Eli Harold, a 3rd round OLB who got a lot of playing time and will be taking Ahmad Brooks' job, Pinion in the 5th who is a good punter albeit a rookie, and Trenton Brown in the 7th who took over the starting RG spot and should keep it next year too.

Nope. Youre wrong. He entered the Bengals huddle and was fined $10,000 for it.

Chiefs defense has been outmatched. They usually create some turnovers but not today.
