It's okay to do that when taking the blame...

That was my thought. He was responding to questions/criticisms about his behavior. What was he suppose to do? Credit/blame his behavior on the team with third person pronouns? :dunno

I think we normally wait until the draft.

Already done. Might as well talk about what teams need prior to the draft and any personnel decisions too.

From your posts, I know you're better than a person who would summarize something so simply, taking it so far out of context. Come on, man.

:(
Look, I don't think the guy should be put in stocks or whatever, but we were discussing it.

I watched the whole clip and he is unrepentant about it. He didn't use the word valid but he basically challenged that the whole world who might expect graciousness in defeat are no more valid than his bit. The concept of graciousness probably stretched back to the Greeks if not the Bible, fercrynoutloud.

All I heard was me, me, me, me. He's not sorry or even regretful about it...If you have ever tried to have a discussion with someone who takes this tack, you realize the futility of it. in fact, as a young man, I probably was that guy in some way shape or form.

he still doesn't get it, but oh well, he's young. Best line is when all his teammates chant that he's a horse's ass. That was pure gold.

But I think the guy is just into himself. It's not unusual or spectacular. But it is what it is.

I appreciated that he at least addressed the public, I guess. Didn't really see any glimmer of recognition of other's views. It seems he just thinks everyone else is a chump for not being cool with it. He is surrounded by other athletes who have had their chance to react in similar circumstances and set other examples, so its not a vacuum.

I'll ask again - where is Cam wrong when he says that it's his job to be a football player who wins? Why project any other expectations on him that are anything otherwise? For all of the tens of millions of fans who get suckered into believing it's about anything other than performing and making money for the owners, here's a guy who, to some extent, sees it for what it really is.

In some ways, he's almost Casey Stoner-ish in his disregard of the press and expectations for his 'appearance' or attitude. It rocks the boat in a way that kinda jives with me.

mostly I agree with this.

however, how did you feel when he said today: "show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser."?

In my world, a good loser is a mature person who can act like an adult in a stressful situation. I'm pretty sure that is a good thing.

People hate that Cam does it.

People love that Belichick does it.

No they dont. He's been blasted by millions for his lack of maturity and grace when losing. He's the biggest douche of them all in that respect.

Amen. People do not like Gargamel, they respect the record of the team, but he will never be on the pundit panel on Sundays.

I think Cam really hurt his reputation but he'll recover by winning. And then few will care. he was pretty much chewed up by the Inside the NFL gang last night for it in their final show of the season.

They do give him a pass on his one word terse answers, as well as Popavich telling the sideline reporters that "the question is stupid" without answering, or Phil Jackson's condescending zen-like on hand clapping answers that mean nothing....

These guys hate the media, they don't tweet, they're definitely not guys that enjoy the prospect of losing, but they're totally given passes.

... and frankly, if my QB said he had fun in a loss, or a good time, or enjoyed it, he would be gone the next day. :laughing

One more thing, I don't think Newton showed any disrespect to the Broncos on the field, especially given the pic posted, but we have seen BB run off the field in a huff. He showed it to reporters, asking really inane questions, in the same room where the other teams players were talking how they won it.

Having said all that, winning will be Cam's only redemption.

But Seattle will be healthy for the new season, and they are the best team in the NFC when healthy.

Going to be Seahawks vs Bengals in the 2017 Super Bowl. :teeth

How's that gonna happen with the Raiders and the Dolphins in the AFC title game?

:rofl

Look at the way Brady has run across the field to get in a ref's face and scream him down.

Nobody says shit.

aww man you're going to jinx my team! lol I'll be happy with them defending their division crown, which hasnt been done in the AFC North for quite a while I believe, and making their 6th consecutive playoff appearance. Then maybe we can talk about winning a playoff game. :laughing
