Baalke in particular. I'm beginning to see Baalke as a beady eyed rat in desperate need of a solid dose of strychnine. I would not doubt it if I were told a story that Baalke "helped" S. McCloughan fall off the wagon when he was with the 9ers.

As the all-knowing libs like to say way too many times, "Thank you."

I have expressed that opinion about Baalke before. Between combover and rat-boy, "we're gonna win with class" is just too funny.

This latest departure makes me think the Niners shoud forfeit the whole damn season. Please, football gawd, prove me wrong.

As much as I'd like to think this were true I believe players do not want to play for Baalke and York. Baalke in particular. I hear Brandon Spikes is going to come help the LB corps.

:teeth

I think McCloughan is a stand-up guy. To the point that he'd never speak ill of anyone including those who did him harm. Yes, he has a drinking problem. Is it too much of stretch to consider that the person who was his junior and took his position was instrumental in helping him fall from the wagon? Given all the other shit that's happened from the firing of Harbs to the exodus of talented, serviceable players?

cmon man...I just read your post in the butthole thread. especially the part when you mention someone posting 'partisan pot shots'...:rolleyes

anyways, yeah Spikes will find another team. SF seems like a pretty good fit really. They don't seem to be bothered by bad press at this point. Buffalo or Miami might also think about picking him up. good LBs are too hard to come by.

Meanwhile, Sam Bradford is apparently fitting in better in Philly's OTAs. If somehow Kelly gets this guy to play without missing games, I'll be amazed. The guy can certainly play...but after so many injuries? doubtful...but possible.

NYG listed as an expectation for top 5 Offense in NFL this year...

a definite possibility.

as long as we're making bold predictions and ignoring injury potential, I say Oakland's offense ends the season as most improved when compared to 2014. Pro-bowl center Rodney Hudson anchors the o-line now, and the Raiders' version of the triplets with Carr, Cooper, and Murray all being 1st or 2nd year players allows for long relationships to bloom. Plus an improved defense to give the ball back to Carr, and sprinkle in a little Crabtree and a rookie TE (Walford) that's flying off the charts in OTAs, I see loads of potential.

I like how all of a sudden Crabtree is good.

...and then the wax melted and Icarus fell to the earth...

Yeah, because that was the difference in 2012 when he caught 85 balls for 1100 yards

Oh wait, same QB. :rolleyes

:laughing

Yes, there's a lot to be optimistic about in Silver & Black, certainly more than in the withered husk of what was once a dominant team in Red & Gold....

Any 9ers retire today? :teeth

We're all going to have a good laugh when the Raiders, for the 13th year in a row, fail to make the playoffs while the 49ers surprise everyone and actually win their division again.

:rofl :thumbup

So, what wax are you using on your wings?

The wax? A team that is largely comprised of the same core of players that took it to the NFCCG 3 years in a row. Recent history is on the 49ers' side. The Raiders though? It's really hard to figure out how the very few and brief glimmers of "greatness" occurring in a 3-13 season can somehow be polished in to anything but stink for another season.

alright, good point.

although you just disproved your previous assertion that Crabtree isn't good.

so we're even

Are you talking about the same core players that lost to the Raiders last December?

He forgot how to catch last year, and since his achilees injury he's not as quick, and wasn't very fast in the first place.

When a possession receiver stops catching the ball there's a problem. There's also a reason he had to take a 1 year "prove it" deal after nobody came offering him huge contracts.

honestly, kaep must have had some effect on Crabs' drops. he simply wasn't as accurate as he'd been in 2012 either.

and yup..Crabs has everything to gain by being even close to his old productive self. a lot of 'ifs' but the possibility is there. Fortunately the expectation is low and the guy could get cut at any time if he shows that he can't get over his diva attitude or the dropsies.
