The Official 2016/2017 NFL Thread

Dude, this is not fucking new. You of all people should know about the Jail that they built into Veteran's Field with a Judge on duty DURING THE GAME Because of the 700 Club...

I know shit head fans are nothing new, I'm making an assumption that there are going to be more of them in places you don't really expect. Miami? I am making a scientific wild ass guess about the cause, aka more flag waving involved in the entertainment.

Someone above mentioned heckling, I want to make a point about that for a second. I think A good, smart, heckle towards a player, coach or referee can be a thing of beauty. You don't need 4 letter words and you don't need to threaten violence. But a sharp, accurate, well timed heckle can be a real treat. I don't see the point of heckling other fans, that just rude. But man I have enjoyed hearing some good heckles at sporting events.

Well, that Miami game was real bad because Kaep was there. Kaep has been showing his cornhole for Castro for a minute now and when Castro died a couple of days earlier, Kaep stood right up for him. I don't know if you have been to Miami, but the Cubans wanted Kaep's head on a stick. The crowd boos for him were crazy that day, even for Kaep, who is usually crowd booed these days because he has decided to make his celebrity very political. I'm honestly not surprised it wasn't MORE violent. :laughing

for sure, heckling can be brutal and is totally venue appropriate

gratuitous and vulgar epithets/threats/intimidation are not heckling

IIRC, Kaep wore the shirt with Malcolm X and Castro back in August, it only came up these past few weeks because sports reporter of Cuban dissent brought it up during the press conference the week before the Miami game, almost 3 months later. Had they not had a rather terse exchange, no one would have ever noticed... (I certainly didn't see any posts about it back then.)

Castro's death was serendipitous timing to tie the whole thing together.

I still think CK, in his mind, was honoring Malcolm X without really understanding the photo as back in August, Castro was an afterthought to anyone that isn't Cuban.

He repeatedly said it was a Malcom X shirt. The dumbass reporter ignored it and said OMG CASTRO SHIRT to get clicks and stir up shit.

Mission accomplished.

That Reporter was right on. Anyone who supports a Communist should never be allowed to live it down until they apologize and retract the statement. Even then, they should always be suspect in their intentions.

The Shirt was a picture of Malcolm X meeting with Castro. So, even better, it was a mass murdering tyrant and a racist Black Nationalist. Lovely.

What's your definition of "support"? :dunno

In this case, it would be celebration of a specific entity or event definitive to a particular cause. For example, to buy products from China, is kind of a, "meh," statement about the global economy, but to walk around with a picture of Mao, Castro, or Stalin, would be a clear message of support for mass murder and tyrannical evil surpassing National Socialism in Germany.

This is fodder for the POlitics Troll den, not the NFL thread. Let is suffice to say that the Miami game was way out of control, because Kaep got mouthy with his politics and leave it at that.
