the PoliSink Returns

Most likely, you'll get banned from the suspension forum. Work THAT math out in your head!

FYI:

The forum is not up yet and it will posted here when so. All that are saying they are "in" will be automatically in when it goes live.

I actually did some deep thinking on a few subjects based on Mikey and GreenMonster’s input. Anyone who immediately dismisses another without delving further into that person’s experience is cheating themselves.

I have never stuck my head in the sand. But I do choose what I want to get involved with. And at this point in my life (I’m nearly 74), I choose to not be pulled into a thread full of people who say “My way of thinking is the right way”.

And if anyone thinks they can change peoples minds in an Internet forum are mostly delusional. They are just shouting in an echo chamber.

I’m disappointed that the political thread is returning.
I do find it curious that you A) Choose to not join, 2) post in the thread about it to announce to everyone you won't join, and D) express disappointment that the thing you're not going to participate in will be returning.

It won't affect you at all.

I just think politics has no place in a forum dedicated to motorcycles.

And, respectfully, I think Budman is making a mistake bringing it back.

ST Guy....why do you care (honest question). The Pol-Sink is a hidden sub-forum that you need to be granted access to (it is not in your face). It was there for a while and I never even gave it a second thought. I am kind of with you where I do not want the BS in my life, but I choose to ignore it. I think brining it back will cut some of the BS in the other sub-forums (gives a place for people to vent politically). If most of the active members want it, then it should be there. There are quite a few sub-forums that are not motorcycle related and I feel that is what makes BARF so good (kind of a one stop shopping place). If this were just for motorcycles, then it would die out (IMHO). I think what I am trying to say is...diversity is good.

Yea, but in this case, the diversity makes for an increased work load for moderators and Budman. All so people can spout their beliefs about things that have nothing to do with motorcycles.

The polisink was gotten rid of. Why bring it back again just because a few want it.

Indeed, if you find things to your liking in the current situation best stay away.

Foreshadowing? This is not a politics forum anymore, it's a Left-politcs forum?

I'M KIDDING YOU GUYS DON'T SHOOT JEEZE.

Already going well.

The polisink was gotten rid of. Why bring it back again just because a few want it.

You and I aren't going to eat that pizza. Who cares what's on it.

I would agree. I think the moderators have a thankless job and (as far as I know) are volunteers. Budman is just a god on how he keeps this site going. However, Budman created a thread for the members to voice their opinion on this and most people that responded want it back. Budman stated in that thread that he wants nothing to do with it and kind of wanted it to go unmonitored (no moderators). It was brought up for a member to moderate it very lightly. I think that is what this thread is about. It is coming back, but different.

The nothing to do with motorcycles argument is moot (IMHO) as there is a bunch of content here that is not about motorcycles (Postwhore thread, just about anything in the Kitchen Sink, the Cat and Dog photo threads, Shooting Gallery Forum, etc.) Like I said...diversity.

I am not arguing for the Pol-Sink to come back, I just do not care as it is a hidden forum that I will never see. It is up to Budman and the moderators to bring it back. If Budman was not somewhat ok with it, then he would have put his foot down and not allow it.

Much respect to Budman for changing course for the greater good, despite his personal dislike of the poli-sink. That's a great example of compromise that should be celebrated, imo! :Port
I will do my best to keep it civil...

I think of BARF like I'm hanging out at @budman's house. The main house is the moto-specific forums. Then you've got the garage, the shop, and the swimming pool where non moto-specific topics are discussed. Let's all try and not shit in @budman 's swimming pool, that way we can all enjoy the water :rofl
