The Rescue Bike (ATK build)

Gwynne, You did a great job resurrecting the ATK! One day laying on its side in the canal and later laying waste in Baja. That thing rips. Good job.

It is scary to see your Sprinter in the bottom of a ravine. I'm glad W was not more injured.

Last night I sat with my old ATK and we talked.
This week I will drain the gas, drain the oil, pull the battery and mothball it.
It's been a fantastic bike in much the same way as a built up muscle car, giving true meaning to the phrase "if in doubt, throttle out."
Sadly, the ATK is getting older and so am I. Beastie will spend its remaining life on a non-op while I go and take off with a younger model.

Good night Beastie you will always be my one true love :cry
:banana :Port : :ride

Is storage with no oil preferable to storage with oil? I know you don't want old oil, but I'd have expected changing it and then storing to make sense.

+1 I'd keep some new dino oil in it.

+1 Always change oil before storage and I do it again after a year if stored longer
