When did it start being ok to shutout or segregate the other side?
You can't negotiate with a rabid dog.
Because one side punishes, injures, and kills the body Public, the other one does not. Demonstrative, measurable net negative impact in blood and treasure.
Because one side relies moreso on distortion, hyperbole, sloganeering, "whataboutism", tin hatisms, and cherry picking. There's consensus, and then there's crushing volumes of independently sourced, international data. It's ok to dispute some of it, but you can't dispute all of it.
The Constitution does not protect the right to infect other people. The Constitution does not protect the right of the few to crush the economy of the many. The Constitution does not protect the right to lie and distort to the gross negative impact of the body politic. I never understood the concept of groups that want to actually shrink their constituency, rather than support and grow it, but here we are.
Compassion fatigue has set in long ago, and I have no more space for those we try to pull from the waters while they continue to shove rocks in their pockets.
The rocks win, and I'm letting go the hand.
