What a return from Neverland! Someone with integrity is back from the dark zone and ready to fight the good fight on a motorcycle forum.

Keep up the work Mac, as you make reading this forum more entertaining each time you post.

Reminds me of the political brouhaha that was on SBR, which ended in January. Teary eye emoji.

Psaki is fine. But more to the point:

https://www.newsweek.com/how-common...tests-positive-joe-biden-colin-powell-1644386

of all fully vaccinated people in the U.S., just 0.022 percent have been admitted to hospital or died as a result of a breakthrough COVID infection.

Recent federal data published by the CDC sheds light on how common breakthrough cases of COVID are and how severe these cases can be. The data showed that that unvaccinated people were six times as likely to develop COVID as fully vaccinated people were.

I cannot refute that they contracted Covid. However are there facts out there that they became extremely ill? I know some do. A friends family all got sick well after being vaxxed and none died including the 60yo's. The vaccine is not a block to get sick. It is stricly a block to severe symptoms and helps stop the viral shedding if you do get sick. That is why I suggested TWIV because the scientists their explain things clearly and it is a great spot to easily learn the facts about it.

I agree that we all have a choice and being educated on the postitives and negatives is the best way to make the choice.

The simple drop in the original post did not really explain much. This forum is meant to help do that. Opinions are welcome. Explaining that opnion helps!

Bud, true she did not pass from it and appears to have mild symptoms, pretty much like 90% folks who have contracted it. Regarding viral shedding, that's not true and there have been many reports regarding that.

Thank you for agreeing that we must have dialogue on both sides :thumbup

I'll agree with that, I disagree that it was political though.
I though it was a great way to start some honest discussions on many things revolving this thing we call covid.
Thank you and I'll do better at explaining :ride

The vaccine is ATGATT for COVID.

I don’t know why anyone would begrudge us the opportunity to take all possible measures to protect ourselves against all possible dangers, but we live in a strange world.

Here's the point

Trump unvaccinated survived and I'm sure many did not want him to.
First Lady also survived
Kaylee? McKanayneee (I know I destroyed the spelling) also survived with minor symptoms

Everybody I personally know has survived

My Aunt who was already on her deathbed passed away and was marked a covid death because they tested her once with a negative and then another time for a positive test.

Friends father passed away due to hip surgery infection, tested positive after death.

Numbers can easily be manipulated so I go off of what I personally see in real life, not news or third party stories.

2 weeks to slow the curve, I was down with that. It's obvious there is no end to this unless we chose to as a society.

I understand the whole safety thing and not wanting to kill anyone, I've never driven drunk or even a slight buzz because I never wanted that on my shoulders. Same goes for this virus, there's no reason for us to live this way, it's not healthy and it's not living.

It's extremely easy to get caught up in "doing the right thing" sometimes taking a step back and assessing the situation is needed and I think that time is now.

What the fuck are you even talking about?

Bud, really?

Her entire family is vaccinated, her entire family contracted covid. She's not the only one but she is one that you cannot refute.

The card of honesty is a tough pill to swallow but I believe we all have a choice on how or what we do with it.

:ride

You realize you can still get the flu if you've had the flu shot, right?

A milder case to be sure but it is still possible.

The longer there are unvaccinated folks around contracting Covid at a very high rate there will be those with the vaccine getting it also albeit it at a lower rate and with even lower risk of sever consequences.

So thanks for doing your part in extending the period of time where Covid remains an issue which results in area restrictions.

To live what way?

My life is pretty much back to normal other than the massive burden of wearing a mask at times.

Easier to put on than a helmet though and you don't have to wear it as long.

With my utmost respect to your aunt and friends dad, imma call bullshit on them being indicated death due to Covid. What’s great is you can EASILY refute my claim by posting their death certificate. Dollars to donuts you haven’t even seen it, so your comment is 1000000% bullshit.

Add to the fact that you claim to only believe anecdotal evidence filled with confirmation bias, we now fully understand your flawed position.

That's what I was wondering. :laughing

To any extent that stuff like masks are still required can be blamed more on the anti vaxxers refusing to take the vaccine than anyone who has been vaccinated.

We are pretty much back to normal with some minor inconveniences. If we are to say enough is enough, we should impose vaccine mandates to end the pandemic sooner.

Compelled workplace and school vaccination requirements work quite well. Don't like it? Quit your job and homeschool your kids. Can't afford to? Well, then it sounds like you can't afford to remain unvaccinated. Oh, and if I were king, I'd also require vaccination for one to continue receiving public assistance.

Florida is doing great without any crazy lockdowns or masking rules.

Israel is a great example of what vaccines actually do because they were early adopters of vaccine and had the highest vaccination rates. They still hand similar rates of hospitalizations as places with nearly no vaccination.

This is all politics, and there is no controlling this virus.

Deaths per 100,000 people as of November 3rd, 2021

Florida - 278

California - 183

Yeah, they're doing "great". :thumbup
https://rapidrecycle.net/

I tried to calculate what the equivalent number of deaths would be given Florida's population compared to California.

Fla. 60,334 deaths, population 20.48 million
Calif. 72,511 deaths, population 39.51 million

California has 1.93 times as many people so multiply Florida's deaths but 1.93 and you get over 116,000. Not really my idea of "doing great" but I guess opinions vary.

Another way to look at it is California has 1.9x the population and 1.2x the number of COVID deaths. I'd say CA is doing something right, at least when it comes to preventing deaths which to me is an important metric.

Florida is 8th worst in the US for covid deaths per million. The USA is 17th worst in the world for covid deaths per million. Israel is ranked 85th from highest to lowest in deaths per million. If Florida was a country, only Brazil, Czechia, Gibraltar, Hungary, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Bosnia, Bulgaria, and Peru are doing worse, if using deaths per million as a standard. That's what reckless public health measures achieve.

Israel = 871 deaths per million

USA = 2,324 deaths per million

California = 1,841 deaths per million

Florida = 2,803 deaths per million

Facts be telling.

One thing Florida definitely does right is control and promote their narrative.

FLA is a first reference/talking point for some folks who aren't interested in getting a covid vaccine and or are against masking.
