Things you miss pre internet days

I miss the absence of fashion slobbery that is yoga pants & uggs. No. Style. Whatsoever.

I am going to say this once and be very clear on how deadly serious it is. Do what you want with the Uggs, but you LEAVE YOGA PANTS ALONE.

+1. Whoever decided that yoga pants were for wearing while not doing yoga deserves living sainthood.

In theory but in practice the camel toe parade in high school is deeply unsettling. And more than a little objectifying. A parent fielding my call about over exposure of her daughter during school replies thusly: “at least she has the body for it!”

JFC :wtf

Values, bro.....jaysus.: |

Welcome to the age of WAP. Where anything a female displays is not your business, it's her empowerment and shut up if it sets off the alarm bells of quaint square notions of standards, and safety..

If you can't observe them without objectifying them, that's on you, not on their choice of attire, innit?

Yoga pants. When I stand in line ordering/picking up food, the last thing I want to see standing in front of me is ass :barf

Ha! Ms BA just bought some of those stretchy looks-just-like-jeans to go back East. I had never seen those things up close. Amazing.

I still need to find me some of those Chuck Norris jeans with the extra gusset at the crotch for getting the leg over the Triumph in the morning. Sometimes, the launch fails.:laughing:laughing:laughing And I'm always grateful nobody is watching.

As a kid-teen growing up in a karate dojo, I'm not gonna lie. I wanted a pair of those jeans.

Aerostich sells pants with the gusseted crotch, for the exact same reason that BA mentioned. I used to have a pair - not from Aerostich but another manufacturer. The extra material there takes a little bit of getting used to, but not having that massive collection of seams/stitching at the apex of the crotch makes them so much more comfortable.

Better than spandex. :twofinger :laughing

Personally, I think that yoga pants are one of the best style fads we've ever seen. :x

Thanks for digging this up, Kuro, it always makes me laugh. I'm actually screenshoting and printing it out for office. It takes me back to the guys in high school that took the tv show "Kung Fu" very seriously and along came Chuck Norris movies. You never know when you are gonna get jumped by goons in the alley, ya know. You want to be...ready!!!

As for yoga pants, etc, when I was at health club last evening I thought of this thread because a few of the gals had those kind where it actually crawls into their buttcracks. To me, it's not a real flattering look but what do I know, I don't even pay attention to relaxed fit jeans so.....

Clearly you are confused by the type of pants that I prefer to refer to as the "Buffet Display."

Damn sir, that's some deep rooted hate for the cake.

Seriously, I find his lack of faith disturbing.

In practice it’s not a healthy choice of attire for young women in the school environment. And those choices, left to teens, are what’s driving a return to school uniforms. Girls with figures and features decidedly NOT suited to skin tight clothing feel compelled to wear the same.

Women can wear whatever they want, they’re adults. 12-14 year old girls need some help with appropriateness. This is beyond my discomfort and POV, it’s something our counselors and admin struggle to reconcile in an educational environment. That said, dress codes in school are wildly sexist in application.

Pretty sure a most dads here wouldn’t send their daughter out in the world bra-less in a halter top with sheer tights and no underwear. Yet, that’s a common outfit in our school. It doesn’t help when younger female teachers model the same fashion choices.

Some BARFer owns my ‘96 E36 M3 in M Blue. It was a beauty car. Wish i still had it.

Hopefully it was a two door with a manual and the M contour wheels, such a sweet car, especially in that color.

In practice, rape culture starts when we say "when girls dress like that, boys can no longer control themselves." The boys hear that too.
