HOLY SHIT! I finally reached the end......

No but if you were to quote us a price and then go on to tell us how unimportant money is and how unimpressed you are and how you wouldn't want one even if you could afford one a few flags start getting raised, a few alarms start going off if you will, it raises a few suspicions, a few eyebrows, it catches some attention, it begs the question.

What's the question?

And this whole Japanese v. European v. American market is plainly bullshit. Each individual market has their specific benefits and down falls and therefore doesn't even warrant a discussion since most comments are for the most part opinion based. To each their own and who gives a crap.

9/10 if you add a question mark or two. :applause

lol, I simply chimed in to state the facts about pricing and why/how japanese products seemingly always come in priced lower for similar/greater features. Some can claim labor, some can claim quality, etc etc etc, but the fact is japanese companies typically operate on business models that allow for lower gross margins.

Maybe Japanese business gets assistance from their government?

I tend to go with the cultural explanations. Slave labor has its advantages.

I was talkin about the 1198 previously quoted.

orly?

Producing 170hp (125kW) and with a dry weight of just 169kg (372.6lb), the new 1198 S now incorporates more World Superbike technology than ever before by taking the 1198 motor and adding top-of-the-range suspension, lightweight chassis components and a true racing-style traction control system designed for road use.

Maybe not the fancy dtc found on the 1098R, but it still has TC

I was talkinga bout the BASE 1198 that was the price I quoted and the S version of the hypermotard

I wonder if everybody that heard the tool rev his bike, got irritated and made mental notes about the riders' lack of personal gear and had no idea it was a Ducati are jealous as well.

Having skilled techs work with me here in the states and over in Japan, it's a clear cut difference in dedication and quality of work

But yes, they are worked to the bone :laughing

couldnt be more true. I worked at Nissan Technical Center North America in AZ as a tech and when we had Japanese engineers and techs work with us, it was a whole lot different than the way us Americans roll.

I may be wrong but I believe that those brembos are cast just like any other stock caliper on any Jap bike.

still monoblock and still carries the bling brembo name and price tag

:thumbup

Don't get me wrong, the top techs here are pretty damn good and def in the same league as the top level techs over their. The main difference is the whole damn manufacturing floor in japan is full of top level techs. Here...yeah not so much

But I digress (again):laughing

Hush now honey, grown folks are posting.

Not my fault if you can't provide legitimate cause for your continued baiting and banter. Frankly it's entertainment at it's best on a dreary Monday. Though if you wish to take the quoted approach, then you've fooled me as to what/who constitutes "grown folks."
