Toyota problems could be electronics

I bought mine (styling and built on a frame) as it harkens back to the old FJ 40's I had. Actually it was fairly cheap compared to others. Stickered at $29K but I paid $23,400 in Aug 08.

The diff ring and pinion is undersized per Toyota practice and they've had many failures. I dropped the fish oil lube at 20K and was shocked at the crap and crud in it. Did the front and rear diff and xfr with Mobil 1 synthetic. Tell her that there are actual real grease fittings on this thing.

The one thing the car does well is make heat. In winter you're getting heat within 1/4 mile. I haven't looked to see where they tap the heater hose from but they did that right.

I never liked the short wheelbase with all that weight.

As a mopar fan it breaks my heart that the new challenger is not some fire snorting modern wonder hemi that does circles around the other toys. Wasn't it slushbox only first year? Totally lame.

Am I being unclear that fast=good and I am giving no other criteria any weight whatsoever. I think radio delete should be an option. Get rid of the heater, anything power/weight adding etc. Comfort is like a BMW motorcycle-it's for old people

I was in the audience at the Detroit auto show the day GM unveiled the Pontiac Aztek and I will never forget the gasp that audience made. Holy hell! This car could not have been more instantly hated if it had a Swastika tattoo on its forehead.
