TV Shows I am enjoying …and Movies

Season 2 of Gen V is out! The first 3 episodes. (Spinoff of The Boys for those that don't know)

Before the first episode started there was a Title Screen "For Chance". Chance Perdomo. I'm not going give spoilers but they're handling his death (literal death and in the show death) as best they can. His character isn't just written off with no consequence. In my recollection, shows where an actor dies, there was a quick an easy explanation why that character is gone and just write them out of the show. Usually the easy go to just say that character moved. It's a driving plot point of this season everyone questioning what happened to Andre (Chance).

I kinda took his death personally as an up and coming black actor, he was 27, because he died in a motorcycle accident. That was after season 1 was over before starting filming season 2 so there was no unused film to use.. It reminded me what I always say about motorcycles to friends and family, I understand anytime I swing a leg over, there's a chance I might not be coming home but I do my best to avoid that. It's been 18 years and I'm still here...

New season of Slow Horses on Apple TV this week. Wednesday, I think. Gary Oldman is great in it. He is so dirty and disheveled you can almost smell him.

Two good murder thrillers on Netflix:
"Wind River" with Jeremy Renner and "To Catch a Killer" with Shailene Woodley and Ben Mendelsohn.

The "Black Rabbit", a new series on Netflix, with Jason Bateman and Jude Law. Finished the second episode last night. Very Good!

Saw a diddy about the stars in Hogan's Hero's that made me engage on some old skool goofy.
It is on Prime.

Watched the first couple of episodes with a new awareness as to the stars decisions on why they were there. Many were Jewish and had ties to the Nazi camps that killed their families and friends.

we’ve been enjoying “Task” … fun cast, and it’s set in an area where I grew up, and they’ve done a good job with the regional accent.

Susanne Sulby is the “Dialect Coach” for Task.

Mr Pelphrey is from New Jersey, so I guess he already had a good handle on the accent. :laughing

anyway … Mr. Ruffalo as an ex-priest FBI agent and outlaw biker subculture. :ride

+100 John. Task and Mare Easttown. Mare uses locations that are all about 10 minutes from our location. Funny tidbit; the creator/ writer is our tenant/insurance agent's son and he grew up in the West Chester/ East Goshen area. I'm pretty sure it's called "Eastwood" as a tip off to Westtown (School). Another of my Quaker schools attended.

I'm rewatching Battlestar Galactica (mini-series and 2004 version) all over again. I remembered how good the series was, but forgot just how much I loved it. Excellent stuff, IMO.

I was JUST looking at watching the Expanse...I got bored too early on that one. One...more....try! Thanks J.

I have yet to start S3 of Foundation, I think it got better later in S1 and S2. But it was a hard start.

And I didn't go "*squee* Foundation is back!". But I'll start it.

Just finishing up Mr. Robot S2 on NF, so maybe I'll start Foundation.

I may have to give it another try.

The World Track and Field championships were great; they just wrapped up by I think they are still on Peacock.

If nothing else, watch the last 5 minutes of the Men's Marathon and Men's Steeplechase and the Men's 1500.

They were all :wtf
