Problem solved.
). Cost of power was about $220, including the Tesla membership discount program. Handling was definitely affected, as I could feel the sail in windy times and cornering with the weight way up high was more than noticeable. Other than those two things, the drive went off w/o a hitch!
well yeah...you're hauling it in the bed...no hitch neededthe drive went off w/o a hitch!
The silence is deafening. So all this and you don't show us any pictures of your tie down system...??

Could you elaborate more on this? What's the problem with towing?
- The Rivian does not like to tow that distance, so putting it in the bed is the only option
Thank gawd.Battery range

That was well played @Das MotorRad!well yeah...you're hauling it in the bed...no hitch needed
sorry paternity leave has my dad jokes firing off all over the place
They are, as one of the things I really want in the truck is a bed long enough to sleep in. Rivian doesn't get there, but it's awesome in other ways, lolshortbed trucks are a crime against humanity![]()
Yes, but what I'm finding is that it shows up in odd ways. I would have thought the battery drain with towing would have been weight, but it seems like aerodynamics are more important that just sheer weight. I took of the windscreen of the GS for this reason as well. On the way back I'll also put the bike in low mode as well (who knows it may be a few cents of power, lol).Battery range
@gixxerjeff - You got me, lol. How could I not have taken a photo of the setup from the back! The silence is deafening.
I suspect there may be a little shame goin' on there.![]()

Thank gawd.
I was afraid the answer was gonna *esthetics*.
It IS a Rivian, after all...
Honestly, it took a few stiff drinks to make peace with the aesthetics... I knew I didn't want that thing from Tesla, and Ford didn't come in yellow. I then made peace with Rivian after seeing Long Way Up where the truck does things I wanted it to.You didn't. A bit of a newbie card here. I'd not transported a bike in a short-bed truck with the wheel over the tailgate that distance (1,000 miles), and there wasn't a ton of how to with Rivian. Lots of Ford/Chevy/Toyota/Dodge art with longer beds and with GS saying you can't compress the suspension, just wanted to make sure I wasn't messing something up obvious.Did I miss something? Is the OP asking how they may transport a motorcycle in a pickup?
