10k would be perfect (current car is worth about 10k so I wouldnt need to pull from savings), but if there is a killer deal for a few k more I can have some flexibility to spend more

Unless its a newer one and you experience the cam phaser issues. Otherwise yes, they look good and are priced low. 12k off new super-cabs right now as advertises specials, I imagine you being able to get even better with some skills (rams are 14k off msrp)

For one, private party vehicles don't even get the same treatment as auto-broker vehicles for example, with the truck having been cleaned inside and outside, even the engine.

A cleaned engine can hide leaky surprises.

I've done well buying relatively low mileage vehicles from the original owner. Buying from subsequent owners seems riskier.

For the extended cab taco owners, i mean Ive seen pictures of the back seat, is it really usable at all for an adult?

I would say no but I have taken a third adult (under six feet) for short trips, half hour or less.

I had a rental F150 when my Tacoma was being repaired from a rear-ender. The F150 was a plastic piece of shit.

Their cam phaser issue spooks me. Think ill stick to a toyota/nissan or a silverado if I can get a sick deal on an 07

Got hit in 03 so it was probably an 02 or 03 F150. BTW my Taco is an 03; the newer ones look bigger.
