vegan gloves?

If you're willing to pay, you may be able to convince Helimot to custom make some non-animal gloves for you.

I am not vegan for political reasons. However, the vegan motorcycle website was very interesting.

Some people are vegan because they believe that animals have inherent rights much the same way people do. If one believes that, mass food and leather production is literally atrocious. Aside from the basic idea that you're eating or wearing the animal, the way in which they're kept, transported, and killed can be seen as incredibly cruel.

It's not as far-fetched as some make it out to be. I think most people would find the same treatment for people quite horrific. However, most people have a distinct boundary of Us vs. Them, for people vs. animals. So-called political vegans don't. It's all Us.

The distinction here is from vegans who don't eat meat or meat by-products because they believe it's unhealthy.

For anyone that has read Fast Food Nation or even just viewed the movie SuperSize Me, it's not always about the animal cruelty, it's about the explpoitation of both animals and human beings that centers around that industry of meat production, which is VERY political.

While I'm a meat eater, it doesn't get in my way of understanding and appreciating those that want to take a stand against it for whatever reason they choose, as it's all pretty valid and way more rational than most would like admit.

Well said!

I buy products that require minimal suffering, and am interested in seeing posts on leather alternative products for riders, especially boots and gloves. I am very satisfied with my Cycleport GP-1 Kevlar one piece suit.

Good thread.

Thank you I appreciate everyone’s comments and resources.
