Vegan riding gear

Dude you need to stop smoking that hemp.:twofinger

Or at least share with BARF.:rofl

ntula:

The person modeling the suit had a methamphetamine problem, and has subsequently been released.

not to be too much of a smart-aleck, but seeing folks typing "vag"itarian conjures up a different image than when I think of "veg"itarians.

NTTAWT.

I was wondering if a vegan would settle with a synthetic textile gear... or do they build them from clay... but that Nigerian hemp stuff is hilarious. :laughing

Just get a suit made of naugas.

Naugahyde is way better than cow hide anyway...

Umm, the skin on the elbow can be replaced by the skin from the thigh, the skin from the thigh can be replaced by the skin from the back, the skin from the back can be replaced by the skin from the tummy, if their is no skin then you can use the dead peoples skin.

skin grafts ,

there is no Peoples for the Ethical Treatment of Dead Peoples.

Thought I'd actually be one of the few to answer the question instead of mocking someone's personal ethics...

Textile gear works great. There is a difference amongst textiles though. Aerostitch will work well. Look for a high denier cordura count. Stuff like Joe Rocket and A Stars has very low cordura count so it won't hold up as well. You have to make sure there's no leather lining inside as well. I love Vanson textile but it's lined with leather at certain areas like the knees and elbows so it's definitely not vegan friendly.

Good luck with boots and gloves though. I have yet to see sturdy nubuck motorcycle boots or gloves. I personally wouldn't risk losing a foot but it's your feet. Good luck and post any new finds up for others that would like a leather alternative when possible.

Just out of curiosity where do Vegan riders get there gear from?

i have a fieldsheer corsair jacket, made of carboflex material. it is fully armored with quality materials, sleek and graceful, very lightweight and theoretically 90% as strong as a good leather. stronger than cheaper thin leather, of course.

seriously- what would you wear for say, a track day?
all kidding aside it'sa good question- how does someone balance their personal choices(vegan lifestyle) with their personal desires (need for speed)?

I make my gear out of vegans

i'll put you on my doner card in case you get desperate for a source... though i do occasionally eat cultured bovine mucous; cheese and yougart, and regularly drink goat milk and eat chèvre... so i am not quite vegan...

i would drink cat milk if i could find it.

Hmmm, aren't all of these products synthetically produced from some sort of petroleum product?

Nothing harder on animals than oil my friends- spent some time cleaning up otters and birds and such back in the oil spill days- hunting and eating our furry friends is a bit better than drowning them in crude (not cooking) oil!

Whose hide would you rather come off? Yours or the cow's (kangaroo's)?:ride
