VPN's

Do you set a web proxy up also? If not, do you simply route all of your traffic via the VPN? How are you setting that up on your computer?

I've set up an openvpn server on AWS, as well as using it as a proxy.

A VPN will, generally, route all of your traffic through said VPN.

A proxy will generally just route your browser traffic. I found FF worked the easiest for that. There are ways to route all traffic through a VPN, but I found it to be a PITA.

I recently purchased an ASUS RT-ACRH13 to upgrade my home wifi and was surprised to discover it has a built-in OpenVPN server. :wow It was so easy to setup. I downloaded the OpenVPN android mobile app and so happy that it works on all public wifi I've encountered so far including the one we have setup at work. :banana

Just installed the Opera VPN for testing.

Free, good interface, seems to work, Torrenting not supported and Opera not some fly by night operation.

I found out something annoying. My Amazon AWS VPN is blocked by Netflix. :( Going to go back to running my VPN at home to see if Netflix wants to block that too...
