What Are You Thinking Of Right Now?

it’s that time of night. like clockwork. can see the lights of a high altitude jet, and hear the engines. the aircraft making its way steadily on its nightly route. east to west.

am thinking… more wondering, who’s on board, and where they’re going.

especially at this time of night.

I think that the LA protests/riots are fucking shit up down there. Wonder if there will be that motion out here in Sacto?

I’m thinking about being a child in the ‘60s and all the shot that went down. Ci think that culture resets often begin with a fractured population.

I'm thinking about what a great family weekend I had, with both of my families. Met a new face and just felt so dang wholesome. I like that the pressure is lifting a bit in life to free me up to have happier thoughts.

If Feds = Waco, and National Guard = Kent St. with the Feds guiding the National Guard thru the streets of America, as cleanup on isle 4,
AI IS here, and learning, , ,

What do YOU think will happen ? ?

I can't sleep,

i’m thinking i am crying for the second time in 135 days. a mixture of joy, grief, and so much gratitude.

At Golden Corral in Tracy right now and thinking that Tracy Powersports is close by. I quite dislike that motorcycle shops are closed on Mondays. Monday is the first day of my weekend and would be an ideal time to visit various shops.

Don’t forget dads.

And mothers aren’t always what they seem. My mother abandoned us kids once, leaving a note to all telling us that we could no longer call her mother.

And she was horribly disorganized and was a hoarder. Makes it very difficult to have a normal childhood.

Also, my father was no prize.

Made you a decent, worthwhile guy, tho. I still owe you that visit too....I'm deficient. .

My dad was the best! His dad was a religious, alcoholic, child beater. My dad left home at 15 because he realized he was going to get a beating no matter what he did. Unlike many, he broke the patterns of abuse and didn't pass them down. He never pushed any religion on us... he did drink, but I never once saw him get drunk... and he never, ever hit any of us (although he probably should have :laughing)
And he LOVED motorcycles!
I miss him.

I'm thinking I needed Holeshot's thoughs on moms today. My mom has been espcially difficult lately, she was not ther for me as a little kid and I was bounced around, but somehow somewhere along the way I learned to navigate life prety well and am fundamentilly kind to others. All the other moms who were willing to accept a dishevelled little stray have forever left me in the give back mode.

One day (soon at CL) we should talk Mom's G. You can meet mine...she's great, and man I've got thoughts about the difficulty in being a mom, period. So many compromises and such selflessness that as kids, we see, but don't understand fully. My dad was the absolute best, like Ricky's memories, but my mom was a superstar in taking care of her kids. Now we take care of her, but it's a debt we'll never pay off....nor do we want to. Moms are the best. Dads are the best.

Thanks for that!

And yes, you are deficient. But we never set up a time so you are forgiven.

My father was basically a good man, likely damaged by all he experienced during WWII. He was only 19 when he went to Italy and became part of the force that landed on the beaches of southern France with the Germans firing at him. Then he was wounded and came home and married my mother 5 years later and they proceeded to create 14 children, 12 of which survive. I’m the oldest of the bunch. And having that many kids also didn’t help things.

Hell of a story. The last best generation.

Yes!

I've been watching WWII documentaries, some of which cover the invasion of southern France. I'm continually amazed at what that generation went through.

If you can, watch this.

Never seen anything like it and as my parents were in the UK during the Blitz that era has "interest" for me despite its horror. So I've watched them all.

They use actors who look very much like the soldiers in question (from both sides) that give a true realism to the voices on the tapes they are perfectly lip synching.

Photos of the actual soldiers who recorded those tapes decades ago are shown from the period.

Sounds dumb, but it is a BBC production so quite moving and effective.

Moral at the end of course; war is a complete waste of humanity.

Estimates of the number of illegal immigrants in the United States vary, with figures ranging from approximately 11 million to 16.8 million. For instance, the Pew Research Center estimated 11.0 million unauthorized immigrants in 2022, while the Federation for American Immigration Reform estimated 16.8 million in 2023.

I thinking can’t defend being in this country illegally.

Yep. Some people think we can afford to have the hoards who have come here and the nearly unlimited hoards who want to come here. We cannot. We have reached a tipping point and finally we are pushing back.

And how do we find these illegals? One way is we go to where they hang out. Home Depot is one of those places.

And it’s not about hatred or racism. The vast majority of people are fine with people coming here from other countries. All they ask is to have the people come here legally. To follow the laws of our country.

My grandparents were immigrants. But they came here legally, following the laws. All people should do the same.

And I’m sorry that the countries they are coming from are such shit holes. On my father’s side, the country they came from was turning into a shit hole. That country? Russia. My grandparents arrived in the USA in 1919. A wise decision on there part. And they came here legally.
