My pet peeve IS my OCD. Its debilitating sometimes>
I’ve heard it’s exhausting and really hard to live with. Sorry you’re saddled with it.My pet peeve IS my OCD. Its debilitating sometimes>

OCD makes it difficult to get places (school, work, appointments)
OCD makes it virtually impossible to get places on time.
The O's and C's present differently in each individual and it's almost always a secondary diagnosis. The common public perception is that it's just a minor inconvenience, which is far from the truth. Depending on it's severity, and the other issues it's linked to, it can be a living hell and has driven many people to suicide.OCD and hoarding are terrible diseases.
And even worse when you have OCD and Hyperactivity disorder. I'm exhausted! The O's and C's present differently in each individual and it's almost always a secondary diagnosis. I feel ya. It's been an interesting life. I could go on and on about this shit, but this is probably not the place. And even worse when you have OCD and Hyperactivity disorder. I'm exhausted!
Now I feel kinda bad for resurrecting this thread. I don't want to poke fun at OCD because it seems pretty hellish.I feel ya. It's been an interesting life. I could go on and on about this shit, but this is probably not the place.
Absolutely. I had to pick the gravel out of my hands once as a kid... never again. Even as a stupid teenager I'd been known to ride around the neighborhood in cut-offs, no shirt, no helmet... but always gloves! Just the feeling of grips in my bare hands is very odd.Motorcyclist not wearing gloves.
The thread title should just be "pet peeves", it really has nothing to do with OCD, but it's a common mistake. I've always found it interesting how the general public has confused OCD with being anal-retentive. Sure, someone's compulsion could be to clean and organize things. But it can also be to drink, do drugs, cut themselves, or a thousand other things... anything to relieve the obsessive intrusive thoughts so they can try and move forward. Now I feel kinda bad for resurrecting this thread.
