What do you do when you accidently wave to a scooter?

The offending hand must be severed! method #1 a Bmw twin will be placed on its center stand and revved to redline in third gear the offending hand will be thrust into the spinning rear wheel! In the event that a BMW twin is not available the following methods are acceptable substitutes. method #2 Battle axe. method #3 Chainsaw. It is a bit harsh but this behavior will not be tolerated.
If this behavior is not stopped Next you will be waving a mopedlers and we know what kind of people they are!

This thread is the gHey!!

What's wrong with waving to a scooter? Does it somehow hurt them less when a car hits them than it does us?

Well, if you are going to be picky about who you are going to wave to then don't wave! Hell, I will wave to anyone as long as they get out of my way! You never know when you are going to get some former racer that converted to a scooter that embarrases you!

Scooters are on two wheels, too, so they're ok with me! I wave to them! :thumbup

If you have such a low opinion of scooters, why are you so concerned about what they think of you? :twofinger

Once I waved to a cop and he waved back (pretty cool I thought)

Once I waved to a bicycle (at night) that I thought was a scooter. I laughed to myself.

Sometimes I'm riding a long and I always make a point to wave to all riders on any type of motorcycle, but sometimes I'm not paying close enough attention and I wave to a scooter on accident. He/she obviously never waves back because they know it wasn't meant for them, but I feel like a fool and I wish there was some type of "unwave" signal I could show them so they would understand that I also know that it was a mistake. Anybody else have the problem of accidently waving to scooters?

Don't be such a snob. Anyone on two wheels with a motor is a brother or sister. Regardless. (Segways excluded.) I wave at scooters also and also get waves back. They might have ridden a motorcycle at one time or another. Or might move up to a motorcycle at some point. I know a guy who has ridden motorcycles his whole life. His last bike was an ST1100 and he could ride circles around most sport bike pilots. He now rides a scooter as he's gotten older now and finds the scooter more comfortable and suitable for his needs. Bad back and all.

Next time you see a scooter, give a friendly wave.

Get over it. Is it so bad to wave at someone by accident. I don't wave a scooters (mostly cause they don't wave back) but have in the past and just smile at my mistake and move on.

The new Suzuki scooters (which look like "real" bikes from the front) could probably blow your GS 500 away anyway so I wouldn't talk.

Two wheels good. :thumbup That means scooters too. I'd stop sweatin' the little things and just ride your scoot, mang.

agreed! one less person drinking their coffee and eating a cheeseburger while 'driving'. at least they're not taking up a bunch of space and are probably keeping their eyes on the road.

I don't understand why motorcyclists have such an aversion to scooters. Why is it a "mistake" to wave at a scooter?

I wave to scooters on PURPOSE. Then I go ride on the back of my buddy's bike with my arms wrapped around his waist. :rolleyes

Lame thread. :| It's like someone trolling and shit stirring, but I think you're serious.

a few months ago i was cruising down shattuck in berkeley. twas a lovely spring day. i spied a sweet looking bike on the other side of the road a-ways down the path and a found myself grinning with enjoyment.

i had my hand wave pre-prepared for this one. sometimes, i stick out the full hand face forward, simultaneously waving while grabbing a palmfull of sweet air. other times, i let the arm wag behind me like a flag, relaxed and mellow (this is a good freeway wave due to the high speeds). if i'm feeling frisky, i might get low, and point down with one determined index finger. on happy days i've been known to throw a peace sign out there. especially in berkeley.

on this fine day, as the rider approached, i launched my standard wave, hand out at 45 deg, palm facing down. as we crossed sides our eyes met, and i realized that this machine was no motorcycle, in fact, it was a scooter. in horror i retracted my wave, attempting to pull it off as a goofy attempt to find my reserve valve. the scooter rider was too quick though. through my helmet and earplugs i could hear the giddy laughter rumbling from his lips as he mocked my embarassment. he continued his jest, grabbing his belly in a full body laugh and pointing back at me. his scoot wobbled under his rapture.

it was a sad day for me, and a sad day for riders everywhere. be cautious fellow motorcycle rider, tis a cruel world out there.

I always wave to cops on bikes. Sometimes you might not like the job they're doin'. But they're still motorcyclists. And most have street bikes they ride off-duty. Besides, ya never know when you'll be pulled over by one. 'Best to keep the relationship friendly. Hell, I even wave at cops in cars. Most often get a friendly wave back. 'Keepin' the vibes friendly.

I wave to sport bikers and scooters, not Harleys :rofl

Scooter people are trainees :ride for sport bikes, my wife came from a scooter to a GSXR 750 last year. :applause

Go scooters :thumbup
