What have you made lately?

This is one of my favorite threads on Barf. I have not made anything good in a while but I did make a hole in the ground today. No wet spot in the flower bed next year.

Very nice Bill. Careful... some of us may ask for help :rofl

This has been in my head for years. Retirement brought the time to get it out. I bought some cheap used drums in pretty poor condition. I refurbished the bass drum, glued on a Cherry veneer then stained and lacquered it. Then it was time to fit it around a ceiling fan and secure it to the ceiling. It came out nicely. I then cut down a tom tom to a shorter depth, Cherry veneer,.stain lacquer etc. and installed a light inside it. Fun project.

How the heck did you cut that trench through your grass so cleanly? :thumbup

Flat head shovel will do it cleanly.

My concern is that the trench is too shallow. That grass will be suffering since there is very little soil to support it. It’ll dry out differently than the surrounding grass.

I removed 5 inches of soil with the grass before digging the trench. Then 8 inches down so the drain is 9 inches under the grass.

this isnt traditionally "made", but still taking plenty of effort.

im making myself an iOS app to keep track of the routes on my climbing wall. its primary functional is finished. now I'm trying to make it easy to share climbs with my friends. ive got about 24hrs of development into it right now.

Didn't really make it, but set it up at least. First year at it, have a lot more reading to do, and learning as I go

Both are doing well, hope it keeps up

Looks like he bought a package and is setting up a new hive. Neighbor has 9 hives and catches all the swarms they can.

A friend 3D printed me the 5 plastic parts and I made this topper for my Festool Systainers. Slots in bottom are to clamp stuff to surface. V-slots I cut on table saw since I don't have a pointy router bit. New router lift/table/motor is amazing though and loving every minute of it.

It can be used as a mini bench like clamp a piece of pipe or allthread to it to cut securely. Also, if I stack the right combo of systainers and match bench height, I can extend my main work surface support.

Pizza peels put together passed 2 days. Dough was sticking to the metal ones too much.

Beautiful work indeed Dubs.

Not sure if it will help your situation, but I use parchment paper under my pizzas instead of cornmeal while on the peel.
