What have you made lately?

Nice looking spoon. I'd be afraid to do any kind of carving or cutting with a knife right now (not that I do any at all). I'd be afraid I'd cut myself and wind up in the emergency room... Exactly the place you don't want to be right now. :wow
yep, i do keep that in mind and some very basic rules like: no flesh downwind of where that blade could end up going if i slip.

i still get a few dings now and then but they're peripheral bleeds for the most part. bactine, some sterile pads, and micropore tape can accomplish a lot.

still, even in the best of times, i will never ever approach willie sundqvist's OSHA trolling :laughing

Finished up a bandsaw mill I started about 3 years ago. still getting it dialed in but it works well and makes lumber. it was a fun project, since I had no idea on how to make a sawmill I bought plans off of ebay that worked out well.
The green drill is used to raise and lower the saw. the black box is for the powerfeed which is the part of the mill that needs the most work still to operate right. The part with the jack is to level out taper in the board.
thanks
Tom

Two thumbs up for this effort! :thumbup:thumbup
I'm surprised with all the wood workers here, this hasn't gotten more praise.

Yes the bandsaw is awesome. Strikes a chord with me, as I’ve milled some lumber with a chainsaw milk and have kind of had my eye on bandsaw mills. Hadn’t seriously considered making one.

Made two matching 3' x 3' corkboard bulletin/scrapbook boards for my daughter's room. spray glued a backing and doubled the 1/4" cork to make it thicker. Wrapped the corkboard with material instead of being framed. She loves it...already had it decorated before I hung them, lol.

Just 3D printed a hanger for my gaming headset. Printed in white PLA and kryloned black :laughing

Very impressive. Super jelly :teeth

I just busted out a tiny bandsaw box out of a little chunk of spalted tamarind I bought from the Woodcraft turners bin. Was curious how the continuous grain would look and I'm pretty happy with it. Finished with beeswax.

Oh and note the micro dado for the walnut handle "T". Was pretty easy using bandsaw.

This is awesome. Is this a decorative piece or do you want this to be functional?

Thanks. It's a little of both. This is literally only my 2nd bandsaw box ever (well 3rd if you count the first one I screwed up). I just liked the little chunk of wood I saw in the store and it was cheap. Then I was curious if I could actually pull off something so small. This is absolutely pushing the limits of how tight a 3/16" blade can turn.

Is it practical? Well it makes a nice bedside ring box for those who don't want to sleep with them. I consider it functional art.

Very cool projects! :thumbup

What happened to the OP of this thread?

Last I saw in relation was he was trying to figure out how to transport a 70# machine to his home. I'm wondering if he's been putting it to good use or if he's having the same luck getting it to his home as he did closing the deal in dating. (just kidding, dubs!) :laughing

Just the top is wood and the rest is steel 2x2 square tubing in 1/16 wall. Gonna order some of these guys for it..

Haha, that's funny, was thinking of that phrase yesterday as I was using the flap disc to get rid of the spatter. :p

Found some on eBay I'm keeping an eye on in case it's too wobbly. It's close enough right now that I can rotate it around until I find a spot where all legs are touching, but if it gets a dedicated spot where I can't do that, then I'll definitely get the adjustable feet. I don't actually need this for anything, already have plenty of bench space. Just had the steel and wood and felt like making something. Also have a 79cc and 212cc Harbor Freight motor, so I think there's some sort of scooter or minibike in my future.
