What will it take to convince you of climate change?

I kinda like the weather now...it's nice to ride without wearing winter gear

It's all fun and games until CA runs out of water. Last drought depleted aquifers, and one rainy winter is not nearly enough to replenish them.

Irresponsible agricultural practices probably didn't help aquifer levels either

Is Brown’s water tunnels to SoCal still a thing or did ther scrape that idea?

With the amount of subsidence we've induced, we aren't likely to see fully recharged aquifers ever. It'll take a flooding and resettling of sediment and subsequent burying of such to create a new aquifer capable of carrying the water we've removed. Geological time doesn't favor that scenario being beneficial to humans.

They did not.

Yep.

Weve already collapsed many of them by over extraction.

arguing for man-made climate change is the same as arguing for god-made universe

arguing for man-made climate change is the same as arguing for god-made universe

You know that 97% of climate scientists, globally, agree that climate change is man made, right?

Pretty sure they don't also agree that the planet is 6000 years old and the dinosaur bones were put in the ground by Satan to trick us

I think that it's on hold because the beneficiaries want the rest of the state to pitch in a large chunk of the money. :thumbdown

Its the exact opposite. The god made universe crowd would never vote for a believer in man made climate change.

1. man-made climate change is affecting us on a planet-wide scale

2. man's complexity is explainable only through sentient design

both claims try to elevate man beyond that of what he is, a simple animal

Show me some evidence that a fucking dolphin can create an electric car and then send it to space on a Martian transitional trajectory (oh and an internet so we can make memes about it) and I'll give your argument some room to breathe.

Because it's really that difficult to affect climate. :rolleyes Set a few nukes off, you'll affect climate all over the world. Not that hard. Shit, even something as simple as jet contrails have been proven to affect surface temps.

mmm, yea okay

i would say it's better to not post and be thought of as a fool rather than post anyways and remove all doubt, but it's no longer applicable

Oh he's still pushing that bullshit.

I'm not a fan of the tunnels but they aren't supposed to provide more water, rather they are claimed to be a more stable delivery system.

There is bond money available to help fund new reservoirs (thanks to a water bond initiative passed a few years ago) though that is a long process and requires a lot of cooperation from various water districts. Distribution is as big a problem as storage.
