What will it take to convince you of climate change?

No, the real argument and science is in the rate of change. We, humans, are exponentially altering the rate of change. Where is the peak of this increase going to stop and what does the valley look like in the future. Will it snow in Florida?

It's been a few years since I've actively and looked into climate change science in depth but from what I remember, part of the concern is that altering the rate of change may push the earth's systems out of it's climate loop which goes back and forth between warming and cooling over long geologic time frames. Like a skater in a ramp, giving them an extra push right at the end might send them over the edge and they're not coming back down the ramp.

No, we don't have the power to completely reverse whatever the earth is doing in the other direction the same way a headwind isn't going to stop a motorcycle and push it backward on the track but a nice tailwind might make you blow your corner entry.

Are you suggesting that human activity is exacerbating a warming cycle? I ask because based on patterns on geological timescales, climate would be expected to be cooling right now.

I made the statement and yes.

I think the evidence suggest that human activity has increased the warming event.

I'm putting words in your mouth a little here but... if climate is supposed to be in a cooling and we're in the opposite, are you suggesting the period of time that humans have been excessively active bears little impact on where were at in the cycle? (I may be jumping to conclusions based on your question here)

Not exactly. The fact that surface and ocean temps have risen significantly, despite being in a period when cooling would be expected based on geological cycles, it suggests that the overall radiative forcing due to human activities at least rivals the magnitude "natural cycles."

The problem is that it's impossible to say what rate of cooling would have been expected without human activity.

BTW do you know how much the researchers make? Think mid six figures for a lot of them. No one is working for free.
 
So the entire climate change hoax is a sham so companies can profit from everyone's gullibility,, but your best example is a company that has been bankrupt for a few years now.
Oh, and that guy that made his own fucking rocket, he's the other guy keeping the lid on the truth.

Not sure if that really stands up to the political power of oil to keep the status quo.

As a revenue accountant, at some point, 8+8 do equal 16 and I can only give you $1.33/month under US GAAP. No matter how much you complain to me and tell me I'm going against the business.

I like to think I'm honest, but I've shaded numbers in my day. Nothing outside the "book", but it's a big book.:wow
