Is the first launch pics from thunderhill? I haven't ridden the track but seen some video so I think I see the spot he is doing it at but seems like you would have to be major ballsac to get that much air!

I thought it was T5, but I couldn't figure out the angle. Now that you said reverse, then it all makes sense.

Wanna bet this guy had a nasty tank slapper right before he went off roading? Ouch.
you lose! the guy with the tl is 1 of my room-mates, he had some kind of brake malfunction and couldn't slow down enough to make 10, no head shake.

Reports of TLs tankslapping have been highly exaggerated.

Alan, the first time i saw this pic I thought to myself no way in hell he could wheelie a 600 coming outta that turn. It just didnt seem possible. Then i went out there, threw it over into that turn in 3rd gear, got on the throttle early and up she came. Must just be the steap drop off I guess. Too bad Dito wasnt there to snap the pic.

Severe head shake can cause brake malfunction, right? Not saying thats what happened to your buddy, but just that they can be related. Had a guy run off the track at one of my events (just so happens it was between 9&10) once he was off the track he went into such a severe tankslapper his brakes would not work....ran stright off 10 through the fence, bike had to be put in a front loader and literally dumped into his pickup truck.....he got to go for a helicopter ride.

That being said....rode T-hill 5-7 times on a TLS...never had any head-shake issues on it.

It seems that more and more people are bored with the asphalt and are taking to the air. What's up with that?

Sometime I get head shake on 9, but that has everything to do with the front end coming up and the wheel not being straight when it comes down. Once i replaced the Rear shock this bike has handled very well. The TL Tankslapping seems to be undeserved. This lap, I didn't have any such issues. I checked my lap timer and I was the fifth 2:12 paced lap I had done that session. It was a very typical lap and not especially fast. I don't think I came into that corner any hotter than usual. Earlier in the day I had come into that same corner a little hot, but was able to slow myself down fine and lean hard and just run onto the rumble strip a little. On this corner I had enough time to pump twice at the beginning and end of the braking zone before I ran off and there was no hydraulic pressure. I usually leave myself a little room for error, but without front brakes and limited runoff - well you can see what happened. The braking problem seems more consistent with a master cylinder problem, which my bike may have always had, but I may have attributed to other things. I had replaced lines, rotors, fluid, pads recently, but hadn't replaced the MC yet. Elskipador will hopefully be able to help me do a postmortem when I get a new front end for it.

I'll take that bet. How much? :teeth

You all lose and should pay Dito for my pics CD asap. My body did a ground slapper, but the bike did not before or after I ran off. I have probably ridden the bike 300 laps at T-hill with both stock and aftermarket suspension and never had any problems with tankslappers. The ducati propoganda machine has infected all of your minds...
