Dito, looks like I win the Sportbike jump of the decade contest. Do I win free Pics from Got Blue Milk?

P.S. Yes Alan, it hurt...er...still hurts.

Ken, what that is is about the best moto-related avatar ever.

There is a phenomenon called "pad knockback" where the violence of a tankslapper combined with rotor flex actually pushes caliper pistons back inside the caliper body. After the shaking stops and you think you're in the clear, you grab the front brake only to find the lever goes right to the bar.

Did this happen to you?

You all lose and should pay Dito for my pics CD asap. My body did a ground slapper, but the bike did not before or after I ran off. I have probably ridden the bike 300 laps at T-hill with both stock and aftermarket suspension and never had any problems with tankslappers. The ducati propoganda machine has infected all of your minds...

I was betting it didn't slap because I saw the whole thing. I am also the one that took the pictures. (I also helped a corner worker lift the TL off of your legs.) Glad you weren't hurt worse. Hope you get it sorted and back out on the track.

I'm not saying my mind isn't infected, just not by the ducati propoganda machine. I ride a TLR.;)

And a good looking yellow TLR at that!

Good shootin' Paul! :thumbup

Glad you're ok, Ken!

He already said no, no slapper.

There was no shaking going on right before the crash. Not even earlier in the session. The lever didn't go to the bar, but it was mushier than normal (though my recollection isn't perfect). Ijust remember I got two good squeezes in before I ran off and I didn't get any braking or even head dive that I should get if the front brake was working. Magyar noticed a discoloration of the front rotors after the accident. Is that linked?

Thanks a bunch for getting that bike off my leg. It REALLY hurt! And thanks for the Pics!

P.S. If you haven't already gotten rid of that rotary damper on your TLR, do it immediately.

Anytime Ken, glad you are ok. Thanks for the advise on the TL also. I have a bitubo.

Holy shit Ken, skippy just told me about this thread.

Glad your ok.

At least you have a track bike now :p

I beg to differ. My old roomate had a TLS... That bit of evil threw
his ass down the road every chance it got. And it was only that
bike that did it. His Kawi and Bandit were well behaved. He
wouldn't listen to my reccomendation to cut the TL into chunks
and distribute the evil to the four corners of the earth.

And he wasn't your average BARF Joe Rocket newbie rider...this
was a guy with track time, decades of experience, and could
count off the corners in the SCruz Mtns in his head.

Bobby Bouchet, teh TL is teh DEVIL!!1
