What's your single most prized material possession?

The titanium plate and screws in my ankle.

All my other stuff can come and go. But that hardware is stuck with me for life. So I guess I'd better be happy with it.

I got the plate in my left ankle pulled and nailed it to my doorpost like a mezuzah..but it was on a twofer deal whilst getting my right shoulder fixed.
After three years, its feeling less noticeable. if you can afford, keep the memory, and lose the plate. jmho

My son's third grade poem from school.

if you had seen the fit i pitched over it, you'd think it was a beat up old copy of a book (sleeping beauty) that my mom gave away behind my back when i was in third grade (no cover, binding coming apart, ripped up and scribbled on pages, etc.). she somehow got it back for me. i still have it.

Doc swore up and down it wouldn't restrict mobility to leave it in, so I guess I am. The real lasting reminder is all the ligaments I destroyed. 3 1/2 years later, I still limp and my ankle still swells up everyday.

Relic'd for real??

I'm touching myself right now.

whoa. hold off. I mean 40 years of bad living, brah, not five hours of crafty faux...:laughing:laughing

dunno.
that plate isn't doing jack for your ligaments. your bone has healed as much as its going to..
just saying...getting mine removed worked. Doc figured he'd soaked you for $$ as far as he could. don't mean to sound petty, and don't mean to get involved, but daily pain really sucks....

If the house were on fire and I could only grab one non-living thing, there's no question it would be my external hard drive. Pics of the kid and stuff, can't replace it. For inanimate things that I just plain love, I've had the same dirt bike for like 5 years. It's my favorite object.

Doubt it was a money thing. It's all Kaiser, and my coverage is pretty decent.

Pretty sure I missed my window to do it though. The long screw that held the fib and tib together (as the ligaments that normally do that got wrecked) probably broke by now. So it'd be a massively involved surgery to get all the metal out of me now. :(

I found my father's mechanical pencils and probably would save them if I could. Everything non-sentient is replaceable.

The kid's art class projects, and a sentimental trinket from my grandmother.

(I love my soft fluffy warm cozy stuff but that crap is easy to replace.)

I would have to say it is a toss up between my bike, which I use all the time, and the Military Saber that belonged to my father, which has my name engraved on it.

You can't use the bike to exact revenge upon your father's killers...

Mah scooter of course. :ride

I'm a bit of a hoarder when it comes to sentimental crap, so this is a hard one for me.

I've got a box in my closet full of cards, letters, and notes from family, friends, and boyfriends that I've collected over the past ~10 years.

I wear a silver ring that my mom bought me on a trip to Santa Cruz a couple years ago. Lost it at work, and my co-worker found it at the bottom of a trash bin weeks later. Didn't realize how much it meant to me until I thought it was gone forever.

I have a clay pot that my dad made in grade school. His initials and the date are carved into the bottom. And I also have his football picture from high school.

I have 20+ saved voicemails on my phone. Some are from my brothers when they were younger, one is a really sweet one from my ex, and one is from my mom when she was really drunk. That last one I like to listen to for a laugh every now and again :laughing

Lost my phone on 580 after a ride Monday night, and realized then that I didn't give two shits about the phone. I was more worried about the irreplaceable pictures on it. Thankfully I realized I had backed it up on my laptop a few days earlier, so I'd probably say my laptop is pretty valuable to me too :)

I have a "cancer survivor" medal that I got from a run a few years ago, a jewelry box given to me by the Make-A-Wish foundation, and my broviac in a box in my closet.

Wow... I think I might have a problem :rofl
