Wow, that shit is complicated! And a ton of work! One man breadstuff factory, look at him go.

Anybody else love those bits on Sesame Street where they show like the pencils going through the pencil factory and shit? :laughing Those don't make me this hungry though.

Hell, pick up a couple of loaves of sourdough while you're in there too. Truly an outstanding bakery. :thumbup

Dude, get out of my head!!!!!! Seriously, I second everything revnort has said. As an NYC ex pat, I still head over to the Mission when I can for a taste of home.

And YOU!!!! If you are ever at the same event I am at, I expect you to bring me a six pack of Model english muffins!!! I don't know about their croissants, but their english muffins are a MUST TRY. Yeah, I know, you're thinking, it's just an english muffin.... but you are so wrong.

So not just an English Muffin, its so amazing, words fail me right now. And you got it !! I shall come with a box o english muffins if we're at the same place and I know ahead of time. :thumbup

Trader Joes! They have frozen croissant and pain au chocolate dough. You let it rise over night, bake it the next morning. The pain au chocolate is very yummy.

You'll most likely have to wait in line, but Tartine's is fucking amazing for pastries and croissants. Try to go in an off hour. I find that between 8-9 on Mondays are generally not that bad. Weekends don't even try unless you're there at 8 or after 1.

I also recommend picking up some sweets while you're there too.

Edit: yeah it's not in East Bay, sorry...

Dan tipped me off to a place in Emeryville called the Aquarius Cafe. I stopped by and picked up a croissant and a puff fruit pastry. Quite good. Flaky not bready. A little greasy, but not bad. Good pick, Dan! :thumbup Oh, and the fruit pastry was very good.

What I really want is a really good beignet.

Hmm, another interesting place to check out, though Sunday morning is most likely to find me otherwise occupied.

Dood, you really need a BMW!
Any real man eats grits & opossum fer brakefast. :toothless

:rofl :rofl :rofl

My wife agrees with you that I need a BMW, and that's all I'm saying. :x

kurt is clearly a francophile. he's probably afraid of zeee germans

Being ethnically German, I'm just like other Germans - I find France so appealing that I want it for my very own! :party

Glad you liked it.:thumbup

I eat lunch there often and have never tried the croissant until yesterday. As I said I was surprised.

I meant currently. :thumbup

My most recent one was sold about 6 weeks after getting the Hyper because it wasn't getting ridden. I came close to buying a GS before I bought the Hyper, but I was seduced by the Italian hottie. :party
