Wine Country Ablaze

Fuck PG&E. They squander a way billions, neglecting infastructure at the risk of the public, time and again. It's their SOP at this point. They lose a lawsuit for their negligence, and they turn around and charge customers for it.

I say let them go bankrupt, let them fold, and break up their monoploy. If CA wasn't so shit at managing things, I'd say have the state take over the company.

It still boggles my mind how back east I had 10 different companies I could buy electricity or gas from, somehow you have no options around here.

Glad that in Alameda, I only pay PG&E for gas and we have our own resource for electricity.

Maybe I should take them up on the offer the next time they offer a pension buy out before there is nothing left. :p

why should businesses be liable for destroying the environment and killing people? i mean... they're making money and providing jobs, so??

My friends just got a PG&E bill.

They had to pay thousands to have a couple of new telephone poles inside their property to get electricity to their RV.

They are being charged $175 "delivery fee" as the poles have been deemed not permanent for the RV even though they will remain after the house is built.

So $175/month fee + $50/month for the electricity. :thumbdown

They are working with one of the legal groups suing PG&E.

Wow $50 for electricity in sonoma country- haven't seen that since pre 2010. My pge bill has risen steadily from 70 - 120+ for the month. For the past 5 years. Hope they get that billing figured out seems like a box was mis clicked for that continuous charge

Well, it is an RV, no dishwasher, no washer/dryer, no DVR etc.

Must be part of their temporary service thing. Sucks, but better than running a generator, though I'd probably use it to justify spending a couple/few grand to put together a little diy solar kit.

If they used $5 in electricity they'd still get the $175/month charge.
