World Cup

In a contest of Argentina against the 3 great colonial powers on America's 250th, I can only root for Argentina.

Best world cup match I've ever seen!

The play was unbelievable and the refs let them play, very little flopping, just world class soccer.
Yes, I agree completely. I've watched a few boring games so far, but England vs France was a great game. I'm expecting Argentina vs Spain to be a letdown after that one, but I'll be happy if I'm "disappointed" that they don't match my expectations. ;)

I am interested to see how the gold medal match plays out.
Spain is a very strong defensive team and has several players who flop at every opportunity.
Argentina has some players who play very roughly and Messi isn't above flopping to get a free kick.

A ton of talent on both sides, I hope they let them play and don't cater to the flops, if so it should be a good game at the least.

My wife and I went to a Champions League game in Munich a few years ago. The Bayern Munich fans would chant the bass line from "Seven Nation Army" whenever they scored.

Reactions: GAJ
First half was pretty much clean, Spain was hustling like England and getting more opportunities as a result.
That defender on the right side of Argentina's net is outstanding, he's stopped a bunch of potentially dangerous cross kicks from Spain.

Dude got a red card for a bad haircut.

I don’t get this sport.

That was a really good final, Spain dominated with kicks on goal, it would have been a travesty if Argentina had won with such a mismatch of kicks on goal.
The refs kept it as clean as they could have, I think it would have been a more lopsided score if the Spain players didn't kick the ball at the goal keeper so much.

A few of the players are going to have nightmares, for awhile, over missed opportunities, interesting to see how dynamic a game it is.

Congratulations Spain on winning the World Cup!!!
For sure a big accomplishment. :thumbup

I may joke about it but there is full respect there for the athletes and importance to the world as a sporting event.

Now Spain has the WC and the MotoGP Championship.

Perrrrrty cool.

Edit to add. Seeing the joy it brings to the athletes and the fans is a joy.

Just wanna make sure you know that the guy from Argentina who got booted , was receiving a second yellow , card - and two 🟡 make it an automatic Red. That's why booted

And that second yellow happened fast but it really seems it was deserved: he basically instead of tripping the shin of the dude, he tripped/pushed him all the way up his thigh and the other dude flipped over

Looks like a jerk... Yeah, I didn't see this live, either

I got Chu. My commentary was totally tongue in cheek bro.

I'm gonna go around to every thread I can find about a race or Formula 1 or MotoGP or Motocross and say how much it sucks and I hate it and it's dumb and post a bunch of ignorant stupid shit that shows how little I know about it but JUST WANNA MAKE SURE EVERYONE KNOWS I DON'T LIKE IT AND I'M COOL

or is that only OK in soccer threads
