For todays scenario I offer this,
You're on routine patrol when you are dispatched to an intersection where two men are fighting. Upon your arrival you see one man laying on the ground and another man holding a gun pointing at the first man. You exit your patrol vehicle, pull out your side arm, and order the man holding a gun to drop the weapon and get on the ground. He tells you that he's an undercover police officer and the man laying on the ground pulled a knife on him after a minor traffic collision.
What do you do?
you continue to order the man to action his weapon, take five steps away from the man on the ground, and then lie down without the wepaon. this doesnt really seem like a hard one to me here rel, unlike some others.
a man has a weapon pointed at another man, your job as an officer is to make sure both escape this event as unharmed as possible.
who gives a rats ass what the guy with a gun says. if he is an undercover detective, he would understand that. he should also know that now that you are here, with weapon drawn, he can back away, disarm, and then produce his idenifitcation
You'd think it's that easy, however, more cops are shot by other cops because of the confusion of who is, or isn't, a cop.
I wish I could find the youtube vid of the two cops screaming at each other on the side of the highway.

What do you do?
Shoot both of them, sprinkle crack on the black guy.

ID's can faked.....
ID's can faked.....
, we were taught not do shit unless someone was about to die or just killed. Otherwise- call it in and be a very good witness.

Yeah, and if it was someone who looked 15 and was in a bar, I'd be suspicious... but I'd think there'd be a lot more planning required in faking a cop's ID... and why would that situation warrant someone having gone to that kind of trouble? Besides, once he produces the ID, can't you call it in and verify?
