BARF Militia

I'm slowly getting rid of stuff as I get closer to moving out of state. Is anyone here interested in picking up a used Trijicon TA31F (4x32, red chevron, .223 BDC)? I apparently have one without a shit ton of bubbles in the FO tube, which means it was before their QC level dropped off. I'm about to put up for sale for 800 on calguns but if I can sell it locally on BARF, I'd throw in a Larue RCO mount, along with the Tenebrex ARD.

Purchased around 2011-2012, The original warranty is 10 years, and the tritium is warrantied for 15 years. It's an acog though, so the likelyhood of needing the 10 year warranty is zilch since they're practically bombproof. The tritium is still bright. There's very light scuffing on the outside from setting rifles down on the shooting bench. Can send pics if anyone is interested.

FYI even if it does get bubbles it doesn't really affect the reticle. Also, when mine was pretty beat up I just emailed them, gave them the serial number, mailed it in and they replaced the fiber and some other stuff for free. Asked me if I wanted new lenses for an extra $100 and I was like nah I can see fine through them.

Does anyone have a resource I can use to put a price on a Russian K98 with intact Waffenamt stamps?

How/what type holster do you use for that excellent machine?

Safariland makes duty holsters for pistols with red dots (stock pic is of a Glock, but they also make them for Sig P320, M&P, and a few other guns).

They operate the same as a regular duty holster except the front hood covering the optic releases with the ALS release.

Safariland is backordered because of COVID. I ordered the holster mid-July and still haven’t received an update notification yet.

Safariland were always long wait even in normal times for popular guns. It took me a month and a half to get one for G17 with X300 seven years ago.

First match with that gun in years. I still can't focus on the front sight and the smoke didn't help that situation.

Edit to add: I won 300 small rifle primers. (SR will safely work as a sub for SP. SR, being harder, will fail to ignite if you have some stupid combination of borked springs.) Guess what reloading component I don't need?

I think they have ramped up production so much for Glock holsters that they are almost custom order for anything else.

There was a 3-4 month wait for a duty holster for my TRP with X300U, but luckily Optics Planet had 2 left in stock and I scooped one up.

TRP is your duty carry? Bunch of Concord guys sport Wilsons, Nighthawks, and STIs.

Yeah. Best 1911 for the money, IMO. I can’t stomach dropping $3500 for a Nighthawk or Wilson If STI ever makes a 5” Staccato, I’d consider it.

My holster for the P320 with red dot came yesterday. I’m gonna qualify with that also and give the red dot a try. I’m not sold on it yet.

Some of those double stack 2011s are sweet but also get in the $3-$6k range. Mainly for competition though.

Never understood why a cop would carry a 1911. Seem to be too heavy and only 8 or 10rds if single stack plus a manual safety.

I had a SJPD officer (door security) hit me up years ago at the big Reed's Sport Shop (when they were on Alum Rock) to buy my Series 80 Gold Cup. He said it would be his carry gun. Hmm. I never understood that, and I still have the gun.

Did my civic duty yesterday and took a new shooter out. Given the current situation with civil unrest and the pandemic, he thought it was time (after 60ish years) to finally own a firearm. Ended up buying a Glock 17 and paid a premium due to the lack of availability. Normally they're what, $549? OTD price was $1016. YIKES! But another mutual friend of ours is in the same boat, so I'll be taking him out as well to teach him the basics and we'll get him set up with a new purchase as well.
