Yes, I felt the comments or advice or personal experience Gary J had to offer on using the side of the tire was too far out of line and too far afield of anything that was useful and others reading the thread might actually take it as something to try or think it was a valid technique and it was indeed on my thread. I made a public statement for those reasons.
What he said was true, I did PM him on it.
I'm always willing to go to the mats on riding tech if I know what I'm talking about and correct, non-confusing, riding tech is in my area.
We have been on a brutal schedule of touring and filming the "A Twist of the Wrist, Vol II" DVD set. We've got 10 days filming at the track starting tomorrow.
I'm pretty excited about the film, we've got some good stuff including an amazing HD "lipstick" cam that's about 2 1/2" square and other things we've had to invent to get the shots I want.
Once I have some pieces of it edited together I'll post them somewhere so BARFERS can take a peek--probably be editing it in July.
Otherwise, we've had a great Summer so far our schools at Pocono, VIR and Barber were great and we'll return to the East Coast in August for more.
We are adding the new track in southern New Jersey, Thunderbolt raceway and that will make the 92nd track we've run around the world.
We've also had a big crop of 10 and 11 year old students and they are a treat to train. Here is the website of one of them:

They ride RS125 chassis some with 125 motors and some have 22 horsepower 150cc Honda motors...Don't follow them into turns on your 600
Our British Superbike series student, Leon Camier, the guy who ran a 1:43 at Sears on the long track on a stock ZX6R with Dunlop street Qualifiers (posted somewhere else in this thread) just won his first BSB race today on his Airwaves Ducati.
We've been coaching him for 3 1/2 years now and today was a big payoff. yesterday when I spoke with him after qualifying we discussed the very turn that led to him winning the race by .095 seconds. Love that stuff.
One of our school coaches, Josh Galster, is currently top rookie of the year in AMA Supersport, so that's going well and Misti Hurst, another coach at the school, is consistently making the grids except at Sears where she got a qualifying tire that went off in two laps and missed making the cut. Her practice times were already good enough to make it but, that's racing.
Hope to be back soon.
