750 Superbike - Onboard with #944

Wow is right. Scary off-roading at the beginning. It shouldn't have ended like that; you bought and paid for the inside line.
 
In conversation afterwards, the other rider clearly stated he knew I was there. He felt he gave me enough space and then implied I had run wide in the turn and that I caused the collision.

Ummm, I would have to disagree with his assessment. From the half lap I saw of him I saw several "red mist" moments. Bummer you got taken out, but hey you had a great season. All you guys are getting faster and I'm just getting older. :twofinger

You had just passed him before the corner and you had complete control of the inside line. That move was so dumb it boggles the mind. :wow
 
I know the rider from racing with him myself... WTF? I would be furious... It did not look like you did anything wrong at all...

Seems like just a LAME move on his part... Is there no such thing as brake control?

How can he think it is anyone else's fault but his?

You seemed tight in the turn and if you did run wide (which it does not appear to be) it's on him to avoid YOU...

That is him in the frame during the crash? (his elbow right) He tried to shoulder you to slow you down imho...
 
to me it looked like you had already showed him the front wheel and had the inside line. Sorry to see the outcome , but other than that i thought you backed off alot of potential passes ..playing it safe ...only to be taken out on a clean pass....

I watched the vid again and now I'm wondering how the hell the bulldozer bike fit between the camera bike, and the bike with the guy wearing white boots in the Sweeper. I'm thinking the white-boot bike got seriously sawed off, or maybe even pushed into the dirt.
 
Looked like a clean "BLOCK PASS" to me. You showed him more than just a wheel, you showed him a bike and he chose to run into you. Even if you ran in too hot and off the track, neither of you would have gone down without direct bike/bike contact. I don't see how it can be anyone's fault but the outside rider.

Nice ride up to that point though. :thumbup
 
I'll check with white boots guy. I thought he had mentioned getting bumped. It seems like that's the place where it would have happened.
 
IMHO I think it looks as if you did run wide you were passing on the brakes and looks to me like he was carrying more speed but you were braking later. I can't quite tell but it actually looks like you stand your bike up prior to the crash making an unexpected move. He was expecting you to take the inside line but instead you were braking far deeper than needed he was committed to that line and you guys crashed. It's so tough to try and pin fault in accidents like this. Sure you guys can say he showed him the bike but I can show everyone my bike trying to make a pass on the brakes on anyone but does it mean I can complete the pass nooooo making it stick is half the battle especially when you're passing on the brakes. Sucks going down especially when bikes get tied up but I see nothing blatently dangerous just two guys fighting for position.
 
I watched the vidoe again only to say WTF... If you look there had been a battle for that spot for a lap. Well heading from turn 2 to 3. The orange bike gets the front wheel off the ground, then shuts off the gas (braking mistake). Meanwhile mr 944 flys right by like he is standing still. This move didnt just show a wheel, it problably showed the back wheel (a complete pass).

Now if you look at the impact. You 1st see the front end of the orange bike, then arm and then his thigh indicating the orange bike was moving faster. This to me shows a over agressive braking mistake causing the crash.
