Well, from my experience anyways it seems most were setup for very heavy front bias. In today's lawsuit-happy society I think they tend to be so front-happy because a loss of front-end traction is generally much less dangerous than the rear going first.

Fair nuff, was just inflating my net-ego enough to show that i'm not another n00b with no understanding of physics as they apply to vehicles, is all. :p

Well we're far beyond the original topic here so fair enough, differing opinions.

all I saw was a car skidding out of control for unknown reasons and a bunch of cleavage :)

nothing really the rider could have done in that situation except be all the way over to the left and behind the car that lost it.

thats a few years old.
the driver claimed that the motorcyclist was at fault but the video proved tht the solo driver in the HOV lane paniced and slammed on the brakes causing the car to spin.

Looks like the driver panicked when car in front braked so he slammed the brakes and tried to swerve at the same time. Maybe he was not paying attention to the road and was doing something else? I really have to agree that the rider had very little options. Maybe she could of got on the brakes harder but really I think her options to react and get out of that crash in one piece were drastically reduced due to the freak nature of the crash.

Crap situation to find yourself, buuut Rider could have avoided that with earlier awareness of things about to go bad...

You can't really fault someone for hitting a car that spontaneously spins out on the freeway. Might be possible to avoid, but that's way up there on the WTF meter.

Threads merged.

what woulda happened if she did not have the video? wasnt it obvious it was the cagers fault though. i mean if they just looked at the scene they would see the car skidded across lanes and was facing the wrong direction. How could it have possibly been anyones fault but the drivers.
