SCS rider hit by car--caught on video tape

It was E-brake, here is Honda-Tech, I knew civics just don't 180 like that

Admittedly, I only read the first couple of pages of that thread, but all I got from it was that the girl in the video had nice tits. Why do you think you can't lock up the rear brakes of a car unless you pull the parking brake? That just makes no sense.

Trust me when I say I know how cars react, especially Civics. I hopped roads for a living in LA laying traffic machines (ever ran over tubes in the road? well I laid them) for 4 years. I am Traff Man. I use to sit at intersections and count cars 4 hrs a day (seen 2 deaths along with more accidents then you can think of). I conduct speed radar surveys like I have already mentioned. I conduct parking lot surveys. I do ADT Freeway volumes (try hopping a freeway). I do alot of shit that relates to cars and traffic.

But on top of this, I know Civics. I have had 2 and the rears don't lock up first on a Civic, I am sorry to tell you.

and yes, pathetic everybody googled over some stupid chick's breasts.

And I've been a mechanic for 21 years, so I guess you're right. You know a lot more about cars than I do.

apparently so my friend cause it's absolutely fair to say you are wrong for saying that there is no evidence the driver pulled the parking brake when the rear wheel locked first. I give you respect as an elder but maybe somebody younger is right.

go tell them that, they all confirm it's Ebrake

you should easily agree as a mechanic for 21 years that guy pulled the Ebrake

If you want, you can come over (don't worry I am very nice) and we can go try to 180 my civic, same late 90s model as that

wow.....apparantly not everyone got to ride all day and their hostility is showing.....

to all the hypersensitve people who miss the obvious in favor of a knee jerk reaction to an issue that you only have non-direct knowledge of.............

re-read what I wrote..........I wrote.... almost seems staged ALMOST SEEMS......as in, we as a society (myself included) are so desensitezed by violence and video of crashes and the like, that it had the look of many things that I'd seen on the internet before...........get it?

and speaking of missing the obvious in favor of a far more complicated explanation of things...........it was simple driver error that caused the guy to spin...........too much brake with a little bit of steering to the right and in a FWD car,........i.e. too much brake, applied too apruptly could cause the rear brakes to lock up before the fronts and will definitely cause the back end to ROTATE AROUND THE FRONT, even if the rears don't lock and especially if the average, untrained driver doesn't correct the slide, and release the brake, which would have transferred weight back to the rear and helped the rear tires regain traction........this is a VERY COMMOM techinque when racing FWD cars to get them to turn better and understeer less, it's called entry rotation and the reason that the moron's car continued to ROTATE around was because the moron driver didn't know what to do once the rear tires started to slide

again, it's simple physics at work

to all the 'experts' but especially this "expert"

I'll be happy to demonstrate in your FWD car, how to get the car to start oversteering by only using the brake pedal and the steering wheel..........but first you gotta bet me a decent sum of money that I can't do it and I will give you odds and triple your bet to prove I can

hmm am I really the only one that thinks that car locked up funny?

the front always skids first because of the heavy chassis weight upon the front, it's too much. I have never seen a car skid first in the rear because it's unloaded?

Do you use the rear brake on your bike?

What happens when you get on the front hard and use the rear?

hm I didn't know the civic rear brakes lock up

new to me!!

my god, I guess I am just a tool when I STOMPED ON MY FUCKING BRAKES 100000000000000 TIMES IN BOTH MY MOTHER FUCKING CIVICS.

hehe :)

you guys .. stop.

It is concluded the guy pulled the E brake by a count of 4 threads, 100 posts, one thread being the biggest auto forum on the web

what I do to you guys? how the fuck do you think otherwise? I don't get how I'm flying the rare view here ?

ah dude you're an idiot, stfu and go home

this is all staged

1. I am glad she got this on video. This is great evidence. I hope she is ok and gets back to riding soon.

2. Not a single one of you here has a single clue what the guy in the car was doing when he locked the brakes. If you weren't in the cabin, sitting next to him, and watching what he did, then stop saying you know what happened.

Stop overanalyzing a simple incident. The guy in the car was going too fast for conditions, it appears he tried to brake really hard when he couldn't slow down enough for the car ahead of him. He locked his brakes, and instead of stearing towards the wall, he saw, he steered into the right side lane. Plain and simple. All this speculation of he pulled the e-brake, those brakes can't lock up, or you know exactly what happened is nothing but blah blah blah.

And, don't kid yourselves, brakes on any car can lock up, even with ABS they lock up, for a split second, before the system takes over.

brash

Only one problem with that theory:

The brake lights on the rear of the vehicle don't come on when you pull the e-brake. :rolleyes

such a clever retort.....did you think that all by yourself...?

last time........put your money where your mouth is.....put up $300.00 and your car,......if I can't make your car or any FWD car start to slide the rear tires, i.e. oversteer, and then consequently spin the car 180 degrees around by ONLY USING THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE STEERING WHEEL.........I'll pay you $900.00

pretty simple deal and I didn't have to consult with other forums and other people I don't know to come up with it.......

No they don't.

they agree that the :boobies were nice, someone even did 3 screencaps to prove it to the rest of them.

A few said it was ebrake, a few said it was braking and turning, and at least one said the guy was txting on his phone.

There's a lot of very well-informed people on that forum! :laughing :sarcasm

ack sorry, for once I just stood my ground on this board something I feel very solid with. I didn't mean to punch an over analyzation ticket on the E brake if you will

I saw the rear wheels lock in the video is why I say what I said, I am never not unfair to a situation that plays to something that you had to be there for in order to comment. I did not say what the rider should have done or what not as I know her and her ability, I safeguarded even the ticket of people trying to say what should have been done.

anyways, no butt hurtness I hope. caugh caugh e-brake /end caugh

haha ya, they wouldn't shutup about the boobies

it is up for grabs in the first pages but fair to say they agree on ebraking, they do on other threads as well and the rider even said it looked like he ebraked

tell me where you live, I'm not synchin your lights

ah man, come on BARF, don't knock over the waves of poundings on my butt

back off!

I seriously will put $$$ down defending the fact that guy used the E brake. My living is dodging cars, I have seen enough braking and swerving to know what I am talking about along with owning 2 Civics.

and yes, good point the brake lights! maybe he hit brakes afterward but bottom line, to 180 a civic like that and have the rear lock up first is very much pinpointing the e brake, to say otherwise is beyond me.

BWAHAHAHAHA! They already did!

Now they're worse than ever, cuz I gotta go no more than 50 down San Tomas! :laughing
