Having skilled techs work with me here in the states and over in Japan, it's a clear cut difference in dedication and quality of work

But yes, they are worked to the bone :laughing

You weren't paying enough here then... :rofl

Trust me, a SR level tech in the SV gets paid very well.

wow you guys are really good at going off-topic. :laughing

Sure they are a few thousand more but does that really warrant a 'you're jealous' comment? Hardly. Not like the difference between a Toyota Tercel and a Ferrari or something.

The R and the v-4 excluded.

% wise for whats ostensibly a toy $4k on top of $12k for similar performance is a 33% premium. Just for PAZZIONE!!:thumbup

Disclaimer: I'd buy a duc eventually most likely the hypermotard. Just cuz I already have a sportbike. I think the price is a little dear for the 1100s $14k considering what you get.

light weight forged wheels? brembo monoblocks? single sided swing arm?

I'd just be using it as a street bike. I take the R6 to track days. I don't think I need all that. So I'd probably get the base not the S and probably used.

So, if this had been a guy on a clapped out Ninja 500 with a hole in the muffler, you'd have started a thread about it too? :laughing

I saw this guy leave LDD early in the morning....funny shit, everyone, I mean everyone heard him leave. Rolling eyes...clapped out jokes...:laughing...yet no post about it.

I guess the guy is getting what he wants- attention.:thumbup

Best make sure those ladies don't see the Harley on the way through your door, or they'll put on 50 pounds and grow a beard by the time you hit the bedroom.

I walk 'em between the Duc and the Harley. That way you get a landing strip instead of the beard. They pick up a couple of pounds, but also talk dirtier. It's a trade-off.

I wish China made motorcycles so I could get on board with the hatred.

When I was last there you couldn't get a decent eggs benedict either. Coincidence? I think not!

I own a duc and I cringe every time I see some pompus ducati owner throwing that around. They aren't that much more expensive than other bikes these days and it's likely that if someone actually wanted one they would be riding one.

I don't cringe at all. The other guy's behavior has no bearing on what folks whose opinions I care about think about me. I bought one cuz it fit and it's fun to ride. End of story. I hope you enjoy yours too, but what you paid for it or why anyone else thinks you bought it (or ride it, or don't ride it, or rev it) really doesn't make a damned bit of difference to me.

As for the revver? I suppose it'd be common courtesy to not aim your pipes at the diners, but it's also totally reasonable to expect some loud exhausts at Alice's on a Sunday. Shrug. You folks worry to much :twofinger

The Hyper S comes with KYB forks and a Ohlins rear, no Ohlins forks. FYI. The 08 Hyper S came with Marizocchi forks.

I was talkin about the 1198 previously quoted.
No DTC on the S

orly?

Producing 170hp (125kW) and with a dry weight of just 169kg (372.6lb), the new 1198 S now incorporates more World Superbike technology than ever before by taking the 1198 motor and adding top-of-the-range suspension, lightweight chassis components and a true racing-style traction control system designed for road use.

Maybe not the fancy dtc found on the 1098R, but it still has TC
