This, however, is the more amazing fix.
Here's the story.
"I'm sure you remember the split rubber grip on the left rear hand rail.
Since I found yours was bent, I got out a spare I found. Tonight I
tested a process of squirting oil under the rubber and forcing it in
deep with air. Then I heated it up with the heat gun and it slid off in
one piece. Now I can sand and polish the replacement left side rail and
stand offs tomorrow.
With that done I can start putting the tail section components together
such as the storage box, rear cowl, license plate bracket and such. It's
the beginning of getting the bike assembled!"
