2018 Winter Olympics

I won't argue that he is the greatest snowboarder of all time. He is.

But people familiar with him and other snowboarding enthusiasts were almost certainly rooting for Hirano, and with good reason.

I stand corrected about the media silence regarding the harassment claims. I do find it interesting that the same media had no problem promoting him as a flawless superman while the Olympics cameras were rolling, and they waited until later to shine light on what a scumbag he is. Exploitation at its finest. Really milking the public attention for whatever they can.
 
Quite amazing tricks in every venue. I can't imagine getting graded for triple twists while landing backwards on ice, oh, and doing it in sync with your partner. Mind-boggling. :loco

Unfortunately, the announcers have again turned one of the greatest events of all, pairs ice skating, into a diatribe of egotistical bullshit. I hate these people. BTW, if I had the skill and my life circumstances had been different, I would have loved to do one of these beautifully skilled events. The men's half pipe was just as amazing.

Well I didn't get to see it cause instead they were covering figure skating and skiing.

US outshot Canada by 23 goals, that's concerning going forward :(
 
Speaking of the figure skating, anyone got a clip of the gay dude’s full performance? I keep seeing people on Facebook going “zomg he killed it amazing performance” but all I see on YouTube is commentary and reaction video bullshit or like short clips of his reactions to getting his scores.

:rant. tough loss, yet again. Although there was a shot discrepancy I can't say that team USA was head and shoulders better. They may have deserved to win, but a strong and lucky goalie with solid defense in front of the net is a winning recipe. LeCass played well and got the luck when she needed it.

I didn’t get to see the whole thing either. What I did see was a great deal of pressure applied by the team from Canadia which leads me to believe the US shot discrepancy was due in part to some desperation in hopes some trash would either go in or get cleaned up at the crease.

And the semi-brawl at the final buzzer put the fear of god into me. Those ladies are bad ass.

the team USA plan was to get off the shot, crash the net and bury the rebound. it's a solid, playoff-caliber plan. It isn't really feasible to expect to outskill Canada with offensive prowess. The problem arises that their goalie and defense are outstanding and their defense collapses well when those situations arise. It's tough but that's the way they gotta do it.

and hitting the post, having it miss the goalies legs and do a reverse 5-hole right to where she could grab it is....supremely unlucky. but as they say, you make your own luck.

I can imagine the celebration the USA women will have if and when they finally take this elephant off their backs and beat that team in the olympics again.

Good luck, that's what it's going to take.

Hard to beat a country where the kids put on skates about when they learn to walk, I was on my first skates when I was 14 months old. The good thing about that is that you have much less distance to fall. :laughing

There was always places to skate, it just took a warm day when some of the snow melted then froze as ice, or often you could create a skating rink in about 20 minutes with a garden hose and a flat area. :ride

He allowed his mouth to vulgarly say what his brain was thinking. She is a cutie. Both a looker and, from the snapshot we get of the athletes, seems to have a great personality.
