2021 Ford Bronco - shots fired

Keep in mind, I didn't order a Bronco Sport, but I see your point. My 2007 Mustang was the best, most reliable car I've ever owned. Then again I currently own a Land Rover and Mini so there's that.

Well the Mini is essentially a BMW. So It should be OK.
Hopefully, your LR is better than mine was. I had a lot of overheating problems......................:thumbdown

So the Mustang is the tallest midget. :laughing

After a $17. Computer chip disabled my near perfect S class...
The dealer wanted $6000. To repair it with no guarantees.
I ended up parting it out.
So I will no longer buy a car that I cannot fix or depends on microchips
Like my last 5 cellphones.
It really sucks having a nice Un useable car!...: |

And there was No aftermarket replacement for the Encrypted engine controls.

I'd recommend you don't take your Bronco to that Mercedes dealer.

My next bronco will be a 1966 to 1975
It will only go to My Shop..:)

That is a SWEET shade of blue. Love it.

...I've owned a fair mix of new / used vehicles over the years, but lately have trended towards buying new. I kinda just see it as a hobby at this point.

I consider enjoying cars a hobby in addition to just transportation. So contrast the car payment with what I spend monthly for something I only do on weekends a few times a month and it makes total sense to me to eat the payment for something I get to enjoy daily rather than just a few times a month.

Hell, think of what half of you guys spend on beer every month and I'd bet it's more than a $300 car payment. I can pretty much guarantee that 99% of you drive more than you drink, so...yeah.

As long as you're not sacrificing your saving / investing for the future for the car payment, I say balance it against your other hobbies and do what makes you happy.

Saw a new bronco sport. Skinny tires.... Not Impressed

Vehicles like this need big tires. Seeing a Jeep Gladiator on the base smallest wheel/tires is a straight abomination. But seeing one on 35s? They look just fine.

Same goes for the vehicle that is the cause for this retro Bronco in the first place. While they absolutely look waaaay better with cut fenders and big tires, you occasionally see those old 60’s era Broncos in totally stock (and extremely valuable) trim. White line tires and all.

No, the Jeep Gladiator is an abomination all by itself. The tires don't matter. :green

As for the Bronco Sport, it'd be nice if people would stop judging the currently not-on-the-road ACTUAL Bronco by the Escape-based smaller model that actually is currently on the road. They're not the same vehicle at all nor are they even intended to be marketed to the same kind of buyer in the first place.

Bronco is a now a subbrand for Ford. They are doing the same thing with the Mustang name.

Whats wrong with the Gladiator? I think it looks nice-ish.

I rented a Jeep Wrangler in Hawaii and after driving that thing around for 2 weeks realized I'm definitely not a Jeep person. That thing was just painful to drive at any reasonable speed and had next to no comfort. Reminded me a lot of the Lada Niva/4X4, which isn't a good thing!

Ford has unfortunately invited the comparison by naming the vehicle “Bronco.”

True but also...

This.

Mainly the fact that it looks like a team of lazy design engineers decided that the easiest (and probably quickest) way to enter the mid-size pickup market would be to hack off the back of a Wrangler and add in a bed onto an SUV body that was never designed nor intended to have a truck bed on it in the first place. It looks completely non thought out and lazy. Not to mention hideous. Did I mention grossly overpriced too? :thumbdown

And yeah, if the majority of Wrangler owners are honest instead of Kool-Aid drinkers, they'd admit that their Wranglers are not ideal OTR vehicles at all. Uncomfortable as hell with shit site lines.

Nothing wrong with the Gladiator. Just looks way more proportioned when it’s got 33s or 35s on it.

Ever seen a base model? Lotta wheelbase. And it looks like it’s rolling on compact spares.

Looks like my choices has pushed me into 2022. Specifically the painted modular top. I guess as things spin up, that could always change.

A neighbor down the street just came home with a Bronco Sport First Edition. She said that someone else ordered two of them, one First Edition and one Badlands and waited for them to be delivered before deciding which one they wanted. They chose the Badlands, so this neighbor was first in line for the other one. Apparently the First Edition is next to impossible to get, but I saw the badge on it to verify.

Other than looking more like a Bronco, everything else about it reminds me of my Escape. It's obvious that they're closely related.

Once I finally get my real Bronco, I guess we'll be Bronco Buddies. :laughing

Saw a Bronco Sport. Looked good for a small SUV.

Apparently there will be a truck called the Maverick which is loosely based on the Bronco Sport and has the same looks and wheelbase.

Will be interesting to see what size bed they can cram on that. Small trucks like the Explorer Sport Trac never did well here.

Hyundai is building the Santa Cruz truck too, which reminds me of the abysmal failure that was the Subaru Baja.

I had a SportTrac before I bought my Tacoma. I hated that small ass bed. I literally couldn't load my long rifle cases in the bed. They had to go on the back seat. When I started shopping for my Tacoma I made sure it had a 6ft bed.

Since this is a Ford thread, I saw a Mach-E today. It's not terrible looking but it just seems wrong.
