2025/2026 NFL Thread

Last drive was reminiscent of the Walsh era. Slim lead, clock waning, march the length of with to shut the door with a TD or FG. Lenvil Elliot, Wendell Tyler, etc. were the second half of Walsh's closing strategy. A pass rusher and a clocking consuming running back that would be used as end-game tactics.

Pretty amazing what the `Niners are doing given their injury situation. Hope those standing can remain on their feet.

Was not expecting that from the 48ers or any team for that matter that has lost so many starters.

Impressive.

Cookman played a great game; never heard of him before.

Crazy how the team is relying on CMC, that guy is the jack of all trades.
Yeah, and I think the return of Kittle and his blocking prowess really helped CMC.

Like most, I think he is over used and will not finish the season as a result.

Was glad to be able to catch a game where the Niners won. I was a little worried there for awhile but the D seemed to solidify and penix was hearing footsteps in that last quarter and was throwing early.

I have a theory that if CMC is healthy then all that injury karma is being visited to the others on the team so he should be golden this season but everyone around him is going to get put through the wringer with injuries.

Re: Niners. Shanahan has a bad habit of running his RBs into the ground, especially in the heat of the moment. He'll pay lip service to spreading it around but it never happens. CMC is still amazing but he is so physical and his success is dependent on his quickness so he is NFL (not for long) in this league. Niners will be lucky to get two more years out of him. They are due for are rebuild once Trent Williams is gone. Saleh is doing an incredible job.

Re: Raiders. I thought that Pete Carrroll would at least make them respectable but apparently not. Also, there is some question of bringing in an ex-player to advise i.e. Brady, I'm not sure that has a good track record.

Bonus Re: Giants: Speaking of ex-players in the front office, Posey is still on probation. Next year is make or break though I thought he made some good in-season moves this past season.

Just watched UCLA almost give away a game by playing not to lose instead of playing to win.

That's always a stupid approach, but I've seen many football coaches make the same mistake, which just opens the door for the other team and gives them a real opportunity to have a spectacular comeback.

When will they learn?

Dude.....that was so bogus. They're better than their record.

Anyone checked on El-Dirty yet?
LOL, while that was a catastrophic collapse for the ages, it honestly was not even our first one this season. Real talk, even with these 4th Q collapses the Football Giants are doing, if we had just a basically functional special teams, we would probably be 4-3 right now rather than 2-5. That feels like a huge improvement over last year, and between the 900 yard game against Dallas, and two wild swing 2nd half losses losses against New Orleans and Denver, a lot of announcers seem to agree that teh Giants are producing some of the most entertaining football to watch in the NFL since we switched to these fired up meathead rookies.

I hate the stupid loss, but this feels like a turning of the tide, so I will take it.

Don’t bother him he’s busy coming up with excuses. He’s also working on how to justify the giants history without calling history irrelevant.

Are you out of your fucking mind? When have I EVER sat around and come up with excuses? That isn't my shit, never has been.

he was good a long time ago. That's all it takes to keep getting contracts as a QB

Eagles responded to the drubbing a couple weeks ago by literally tearing Cam Skattebo's foot off his body today. Can't say I am terribly surprised, I assumed they way he played he would be demolished by the end of the season, but I had hoped for a few more weeks.

C'est la vies.
