2025/2026 NFL Thread

Niners are lucky to be 5-3. At this point they should just bench their starter skilled players and just lose it all from here on out. They have a bunch of draft picks and need to reload on defense, including their coach. They're not winning shit when their defense makes every QB they play to be as good as Dak, or better.

Always good to see Rodgers lose.

I guess last week was an aberration for SF and yesterday might be more indicative of the rest of the season.

Great catch by Kittle though.

:ROFLMAO: "As good as Dak."

Also when you lose a bunch of starters and your defense can at least still play that is a good coach. I was stoked when Saleh came back as those years we had a rock solid defense albeit one that gassed out but solid while they had some juice. Also doesn't help when all your receivers and rockstar TE are out as you can tell by CMC being the leading receiver every game. Niners have had a ton of years wasted due to injury but when everyone is healthy they go to the SB.

Eagles responded to the drubbing a couple weeks ago by literally tearing Cam Skattebo's foot off his body today. Can't say I am terribly surprised, I assumed they way he played he would be demolished by the end of the season, but I had hoped for a few more weeks.

C'est la vies.
I didn't watch the game but I saw the hit and the injury. The injury is gnarly and really unfortunate. I'm seeing some people are upset that the hit was a "hip drop" tackle. Clearly I'm biased but, I'm not really seeing that. I see the defender making a pretty mild looking tackle and Scat's leg being in a bad place at a bad time. The examples of a "hip drop" tackle I saw looked like the defender was extending their own leg to trip the receiver. I dunno, it didn't look like a dirty hit to me. Again, I'm biased so I'm posing the question to you and others. Was that a dirty hit?

I was worried when they were talking about it like someone died, or was paralyzed. Then it turns out he hurt his foot. :laughing

I was watching it in real time. He had floppy foot. But, they were announcing as though something catastrophic had happened.

I watched some chuckle head on youtube toggle the replay back and fourth between "floppy" and "unfloppy" 47 times in a minute with no sound on :laughing

might just be a slight bit more serious than "he hurt his foot" but ...

not dirty at all, he landed weird and destroyed his ankle folding back under himself with the defenders weight landing on him too

the rules are actually really specific for calling a hip drop and since both guys were in the air going for the ball so by rule it can't be a hip drop.

Skattebo's(?) injury was the same thing that happened to Fred Warner on the Niners. They call is a dislocated ankle but it means you snapped all the important stuff there and you are out for a year.

That's what I though I saw too. :thumbup

Well, yes and No.

I think the play was clean and I have no gripes about that, but, the tainted stink of the Shitbird's unholy soul permeates every moment of their wretched existence, clinging their unwholesome stench of humanity's failure to every play like rank, cheap, perfume on the inner thigh of a week dead hooker in a Fairhill dumpster.

So also yes, it was dirty.

If this does not look like a fucking horror story to you, you have probably never had a serious bone or joint injury. He was immediately taken to the Hospital in Philly for a reason.

Without immediate care, it is not unlikely that an injury like this would result in the loss of a foot. I am seriously considering that this may have been a career ending injury for the dude.

I grew up riding dirt bikes, so breaking stuff that doesn't stop you from racing next year, is just a moderate bummer at most. Plus I was watching when Damar Hamlin took his hit, that's real life stuff and that's how they were talking, like someone died. Anything where someone plays next year, is just the regular stuff.

Don't know who "He" was. Did 'Quan come? I would expect that from him. Real stand up guy. I was sad to see his contract not work out.
I'm seeing on social media Zach Braun went to visit Cam after the game. I don't have great reporting to back it up but the facebook-o-shphere is feeding me that happy narrative.
