5 TD passes. Historic shit.

Rivers played well but Purdy was amazing.

I don’t think our defense is worthy of a Super Bowl run.

True but scoring 30 points or more will be tough as we get to the really good teams.

He did with the help of McCaffery.

Bourne was a better receiver with Jones.
Mac Jones played well at a time when there were many injured player on offense.

Purdy came back with more tools at hand.

He played great last night, no question, but without Jones it would have been a relatively meaningless game.

That is true.

Jones is a solid quarterback with good accuracy and decent mobility. But, Purdy has an X factor that Jones doesn't have that allows him to be more effective.

It's amazing that the niners have done so well with their two best defensive players out for the season, I don't think that any other team would function as well with such a reduction of 2 talents like they've lost.

You'll have to admit that Purdy had some amazing throw yesterday, and some thrown on the run.

Glad I got to watch most of that MNF game. Not sure I understood it but they kept mentioning that if the Niners win out they will have the one seed. Maybe because of that last game with the Seachickens if we win that we have the best record and a tie with against them win/loss?

If the Niners DO get the #1 Seed, I belive they have an opportunity to be the first team in history to play every post season game at home, including the Superbowl.

Mac Jones is a great back up, but if he was a real deal starter, he would still be in New England. or Jacksonville.

Something doesn’t add up with that AI stuff. Two guys that are undefeated in the SB are anointing someone that is 0-2 in the SB????

For the record I really like BP and want him to win a SB someday, but I gotta bust your balls about that picture.

Only 1 SB appearance so far, he's not 0-2. NFCCG against Philly he got hurt first drive...

The AI stuff is weird though.

No more AI from me, but it reflects that Purdy tied Joe Montana's record for most 5+ touchdown games as a 49ers QB (first since Montana in 1990), and also joined Montana and Steve Young as only QBs with multiple such games, becoming the first 49ers QB since Montana (1990) to throw 5+ TDs in a game.

I am hoping for the 1 seed but we shall see.

For Mac Jones not sure we can count him out. I mean look at the number of QB reclamation projects out there now. Sometimes it's just a change of scenery or coach that helps. Or maybe not being tossed behind a porous O-line and running for your life every down helps but he bailed us out and kept us in the hunt.

I do not dispute that Mac Jones is a great back up. However, he is a 2 team loser that is 2 years older than Purdy. The odds of him taking over seem wildly far fetched to me.

@Ridley

I feel ya. It is a little early. Post SB win would be more applicable but… he has been assigned to carry the sword. I hope he wields it well.

I certainly did not suggest that.

he has proven the he can save a season as a backup even though the team may lack many of the other parts on offense that have led to long term success.

That was the impressive part.

His market value for other teams has to be at an all time high.

I think that Mac proved that he is a solid quarterback, but what is also apparent is that he isn't Purdy, he doesn't have those X factor things that has made Purdy so effective. Mac is the quarterback who can get you to the playoffs, with enough other good players, but not to the superbowl.
