2025/2026 NFL Thread

From what I saw Mac is better than Dilfer. There are several QB's that got their team to a win that were not your X factor guys.

My take...

In the role of backup QB as a 49er, Mac Jones had far more playing time to show his worth to other NFL teams than Sam Darnold during their separate stints with the team. Would hope for the team, Jones is back again next season. If they do him right, release him from the existing contract, he'll get paid by someone that will go with a newly known quantity over a gamble in the draft.

If the Niners get rid of Jones, they will get a decent draft pick for him. This based on his 2025 play. Given Purdy’s injury history they should keep him.

Shanahan had to massively reduce the playbook for Jones, because he doesn't have the arm strength, mobility, or most importantly processing speed that Purdy does. That's not a knock on Jones, because Purdy is elite and has statistically been the #1 QB in the NFL since he came back from injury.

I don't think they'll trade him in the offseason, but if he asks to be moved so he can start I think they'll accommodate him and then go get Zach Wilson or something to be the next reclamation project backup QB.

Agreed. I am assuming he wants to try and get a ring with a real competitor like the Niners before being traded to whatever dumpster fire team wants to trade for him.

The Bears quarterback is the real deal, he's a lot like Purdy, I watched him play a couple seasons at USC.

Down to the last play. :wow

Chicago is good. Kind of made my previous point about our D. Mediocre and some luck is needed to make it to the big game.

Another outstanding game by CMC and Purdy.
He is playing outstanding. 5 TDs again. :applause
